BURLESQUE DINING ROOM We designed this extraordinary room as part of a large interior design project in Stamford, Lincolnshire. Our client asked us to create for him a Moulin Rouge themed dining room to enchant his guests in the evenings – and to house his prized collection of fine wines. The palette of deep hues, rich dark wood tones and accents of opulent brass create a warm, luxurious and magical backdrop for poker nights and unforgettable dinner parties. CLIMATE CONTROLLED WINE STORAGE The biggest wow factor in this room is undoubtedly the luxury wine cabinet, which was custom designed and made for us by Spiral Cellars. Standing proud in the centre of the back wall, it maintains a constant temperature for our client’s collection of well over a hundred bottles. As a nice finishing touch, our audio-visuals engineer found a way to connect it to the room’s Q–Motion mood lighting system, integrating it perfectly within the room at all times of day. POKER NIGHTS AND UNFORGETTABLE DINNER PARTIES We always love to work with a quirky and OTT brief! This room encapsulates the drama and mystery we are so passionate about creating for our clients. The wallpaper – a cool, midnight blue grasscloth – envelopes you in the depths of night; the warmer oranges and pinks advancing powerfully out of this shadowy background. The antique dining table in the centre of the room was brought from another of our client’s properties, and carefully integrated into this design. Another existing piece was the Chesterfield which we had stripped and reupholstered in sumptuous blue leather. On this project we delivered our full interior design service, which includes concept design visuals, a rigorous technical design package and full project coordination and installation service.

Gray walls are given a statement edge trimmed out in moldings. The contemporary chandelier keeps the space from becoming too casual. Our brass and wood trestle table makes another appearance! But check out the bar cart, one of our favorite things in 2021.

In the dining room, Pineapple House has a painted coffered ceiling with tongue and groove V-notch slats. It adds interest and texture to the 10 foot ceiling. To create trim with a flowing, seamless appearance, drapery cornices are integrated into the crown molding. Intense sun penetrates the room and led to the creation of a three-part window treatment. Designers use stationary drapery panels for acoustics and to soften edges. They add roman shades for solar control. A gothic-inspired arched valance in embossed linen for a formal accent. The valance is a soft echo of the gothic motif on the fireplace surround in the home’s adjacent keeping room. On the walls, they cut grass cloth into squares and alternate their direction when it is being hung. This creates a subtle visual effect that changes as the sun dances through the room and you walk around the space. Square nail heads punctuate the intersections by being turned and set on their tips, creating a 3-dimensional diamond shape. Chris Little Photography

Prior to the renovation, the dining room was closed off and natural light was unable to filter through to the kitchen. We solved that by created a new opening from the kitchen to the dining room providing immediate and easy access to this area. We continued the custom cabinetry in the same style and finish into the dining room creating a beverage bar. Beams were added into the dining room as a connective design element to the kitchen and great room.

A dramatic 2-story ceiling creates a grand first impression in the foyer, where hardwood flooring extends into the adjacent formal dining room elegant coffered ceiling accented by craftsman style wainscoting and chair rail. Just beyond the Foyer, the great room with a 2-story ceiling, the kitchen, breakfast area, and hearth room share an open plan. The spacious kitchen includes that opens to the breakfast area, quartz countertops with tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, attractive cabinetry with crown molding, and a corner pantry. The connecting hearth room is a cozy retreat that includes a gas fireplace with stone surround and shiplap. The floor plan also includes a study with French doors and a convenient bonus room for additional flexible living space. The first-floor owner’s suite boasts an expansive closet, and a private bathroom with a shower, freestanding tub, and double bowl vanity. On the 2nd floor is a versatile loft area overlooking the great room, 2 full baths, and 3 bedrooms with spacious closets.
