Arbordale LandscapingStepping stones in a minimal gravel paved area lead past two lounge chairs to the intimate dining area. The herringbone-patterned limestone patio dissipates into a lush planting bed filled with loose swaths of shade-loving perennials and seasonal bulbs. Beech hedging, and formal clipped evergreens, surround the space and provide privacy, structure and winter interest to the garden. On axis to the main interior living space of the home, the fountain, is the focal point of the garden. A limestone water wall featuring an engraved pattern of fallen Honey Locust leaves nods to the centrally located mature Honey Locust tree that anchors the garden. Water, flowing down the wall, falls a short distance into a pool with a submerged limestone panel. The light noise of the falling water helps soften the sounds of the bustling downtown neighbourhood, creating a tranquil back drop for living and entertaining.
Alderwood Landscape Architecture and ConstructionThis couple wanted to get the most out of their small, suburban backyard by implementing an adult design separate from the kids' area, but within its view. Our team designed a courtyard-like feel to make the space feel larger and to provide easy access to the shed/office space. The delicate water feature and fire pit are the perfect elements to provide a resort feel.
Gelderman Landscape ServicesAt this newly renovated Burlington home we wanted to create a backyard space that would allow for entertaining family and friends. Contemporary paving stones were used to create the pool patio/dining area where we installed modern rectilinear pool featuring a sheer decent water feature wall. A custom garden shed was built to incorporate pool equipment. Other custom features include a fireplace, BBQ and cabana complete with heating and lighting. Landscape lighting and a fully automated irrigation system complete the project.

The landscape design for this home perfectly complements its modern look, with straight and clean lines. The walkway off of the driveway leads us to the backyard with clean 90-degree lines and green shrubs for colour. Moving into the backyard, we have a 2-tiered Zen wall that creates two patio areas for seating, complimented with a water feature for sound and visual effect with trees and plantings that will grow and provide privacy for the backyard.

Sterling grey Lexington tiles 16x24
90-degree poured concrete curbing
Trees and shrubs in a 25 mm Rundle Rock bed
2-tiered Zen wall in grey from Expocrete with drainage and charcoal caps
Contrasting Bridgewood slabs in charcoal that utilize all three sizes of slabs with 25mm Limestone in between
Waterwall and blade that feeds into a small pond with Montana Rainbow River Rock, sound and visual for a seating area
Mom's Design BuildWith an existing pool and retaining walls, we took this space and made it more modern offering many various spaces for lounging, enjoying the fire, listening to the water feature and an upper synthetic turf area for playing games. It is complete with bluestone pavers, a modern water feature and reflecting pool, a raised ipe deck, synthetic turf, glass railings, a modern, gas fire bowl and a stunning cedar privacy wall!
Brian O'Hara DesignFollowing on from the experience of building my first show garden in Bloom 2007, I decided to go down a different design route with this garden in 2008. This garden was designed to look like an existing natural space where 2 sitting areas had been added on either side of a stream to create a space where the user could relax and be wooed by the gentle sound of the water flowing over and between boulders. Again I was awarded a silver medal for my efforts. I was particularly pleased with the natural feel of the water and the dense planting.

The Sculpted EarthBelgard Catalina Grana pavers in Victorian color with charcoal color boarder. 24x24" Vancouver Bay stepping stones through grass lead to Timbertech composite deck. Low voltage landscape lighting highlight patio , Maples in pots and steps up to deck. Plantings of Acorus, Heuchera and Hellebores line the patio edge.

Fi Boyle Garden DesignIn 2022, we converted the swimming pool to this stunning three tier rill with an extended terrace for dining and entertaining. We used the formal planting of the yew domes and the lawn to create structure whilst softening the borders with delicate, flowing plants in a simple colour palette.
