It shouldn’t be shocking that Mid-westerns are the last to experience the trends trickling in from the east and west coasts. While contemporary styles in white and grey have been flooding their homes over the past 3-5 years, homeowners in the Midwest seem to choose warmer hues in transitional styles. When brainstorming what our next display should encompass, we decided to blend the trends we see emerging in the Midwest with a cool, fun edge. Transitioning modern to Minnesota involves warmer colors, texture and depth to design. Flat panel doors in an off-white paired with a rich and earthy textured melamine encompass just that. Mixing metals, especially with gold is becoming increasingly popular. The display is shown blending stainless steel with fun, accessories in gold. Homeowners are beginning to like both the ease and the look of simplicity. As shown in our display, they are pairing flat-panel doors with a c-channel to take the place of knobs and pulls. Quartz countertops in a 2 cm (3/4”) thickness are almost always paired with this style, sometimes in a matte finish as they are a new trend and also reduce glare. This dark brown, almost black matte quartz top is shown contrasting against the glossy warm-white base cabinets in the display. Who hasn’t been on their hands and knees digging countlessly for the matching container and lid? Interior cabinet accessories save time and energy. Some trends in kitchen organization that the display incorporates include hands-free waste bins, knife/utensil pull-outs, container organizers, corner pull-outs, pull-out towel bars, Keurig cup organizers and dishware drawers. Having an organized kitchen is an upgrade but it without a doubt keeps us sane. What’s a space that doesn’t ignite a spark of interest? Have fun with it! In this space the existing circular soffit was designed around, yet celebrated. A bubble mosaic backsplash layered with bubble glass doors and decorative spheres are a fun way to play with shape. With bold light fixtures being a big trend for 2017, finding the perfect statement fixture for the space was the icing on the cake. Color can always personalize a space. In this case, the Pantone color of the year, Greenery #15-0343, became an inspiration when selecting accessories. Anyone with a sense of humor will appreciate the golden “man handle”. After all, we all love a great conversation piece.

This bright open-planed kitchen uses a smart mix of materials to achieve a contemporary classic look. Neolith Estatuario porcelain tiles has been used for the worktop and kitchen island, providing durability and a cost effective alternative to real marble. A built in sink and a single adjustable barazza tap maintains a minimal look. Matt Lacquered cabinetry provides a subtle contrast whilst wooden effect laminate carcass and shelving breaks up the look. Pocket doors allows flexibility with how the kitchen can be used and a glass splash back was used for a seamless look. David Giles

Grande cuisine avec îlot Armony Cucine, agencement en L deux finitions : Une finition Latte Lucido pour les portes façades de l’aménagement linéaire de meubles haut et bas et pour l’îlot central. Une finition Moka 1137 mat pour l’aménagement tout hauteur de meuble colonne. Cette cuisine est spacieuse et fonctionnel par un grand nombre de rangement : Un ensemble linéaire de meuble haut avec porte façade sans poigné, leurs ouverture se fait par un Système de gorge profilé inox. Un ensemble linéaire de meuble bas, accueil un lave-vaisselle intégrable qui vient compléter la zone de nettoyage déjà caractérisé par une cuve sous plan en inox de chez FRANKE auquel a été joint à un mitigeur haut avec douchette en inox. Un îlot de taille confortable caractérise l’une des deux de zones de cuisson de la cuisine. Une table induction multizone de chez NOVY y a été installée, elle commande une hotte plafonnier NOVY, qui est encastré dans un coffrage créé sur mesure. L’îlot comprend également des rangements type : tiroir à couvert, casserolier, tiroir à ustensile de cuisine, coulissant à épice. Coté salon il est aménagé d’une niche ouverte pouvant faire office de petite Bibliothèque, ce qui renforce le design moderne de cette cuisine. Un aménagement tout hauteur de meuble colonne aux portes façades Moka 1137 mat, vient apporter du contracte au sein de la cuisine. Il regroupe les gros électroménagers tel que : un réfrigérateur intégrable et un congélateur intégrable de chez LIEBHERR. Cet aménagement comprend aussi la deuxième zone cuisson de la cuisine, qui est caractérisée par un four multifonction et un combiné four micro-ondes de chez SIEMENS. Une colonne coulissante tout hauteur est placé en bout de cet aménagement tout hauteur.Le plan de travail utilisé dans cette cuisine est un GRANIT BROWN ANTIQUE. This was a remodeled kitchen from ground up. From taking out the dated floor tiles to making the ceiling higher. We gave this client the best use of storage space, now they have double what they use to. Since it's not a huge space we wanted the kitchen to feel lighter and brighter so we installed white cabinets and white quartz counter tops giving the kitchen a airy feeling. We paired it with a more masculine tile selection with blues, blacks, and whites to give this kitchen a more balanced/homey look for him and her. To twist the looks we brought in a more transitional, but yet modern/contemporary, stainless farmers sink. The home owners couldn't be happier with the results! Roman Sebek Photography

A Brush with Brass - The cool metal tones (stainless steel, nickel, chrome, etc.) that have outsold all other finishes on everything from decorative hardware to faucets to furniture have become so popular they have begun to look commonplace.
