We created this stunning moody library lounge inspired by the client's love of British Cigar Rooms. We used pattern, texture and moody hues to bring out the feel of the library and used the gorgeous Tom Dixon lamp, Restoration Hardware contemporary writing desk, client's gorgeous folk indian painting, and custom cabinetry to give the library/study a very modern yet classical feel!

Our new construction boasts a spacious office room with white cabinetry, giving it a clean and professional look. Accompanied by a beautiful hardwood table, you'll have the perfect space to work on any project at home. The light hardwood flooring adds a touch of elegance to this modern design. And let's not forget about the stunning bathroom. With white textured walls and a niche, the shower is a statement piece that complements the white cabinetry.

My brief was to design an office space that was multifunctional. It needed plenty of storage for their fabulous collection of books and to include a media area where the room could be utilised by all the family when not in use as an office. The new home office design that I created with new layout enabled me to add additional seating to allow them to watch a movie in the evening or play games on the media unit. It also incorporates fabulous built in units painted in colourtrends Larkspur. The unit includes a built-in window seat and wrap around corner library bookcases and a custom radiator cover. It contains lots of storage too for board games and media games. The Window seat includes a custom-made seat cushion, stunning blind and scatter cushions I felt the room was very dark so I chose a colour palette that would brighten the room. I layered it with lots of textured wallpaper from Romo and villa Nova and opulent velvet and printed linen fabrics to create a sophisticated yet funky space for the homeowners. The rust orange fabrics provide a strong contrast against the pale blue and navy colours. Greenery and accessories were added to the shelves for a stylish finish. My clients Aine and Kieran were delighted with the space.

Zur Interbau 1957 entstand das Gebäude als großbürgerliches Wohnhaus mit integrierter Augenarztpraxis für Prof. Blumenthal. Nach verschiedenen Entwürfen auch von anderen Architekten für das Grundstück Händelallee 67 wird das großzügige Wohnhaus 1959 von den Architekten Klaus Kirsten und Heinz Nather fertig gestellt. Es öffnet sich im Erdgeschoss fächerartig und sehr großzügig zum Garten. Das Obergeschoss verfügt über eine großzügige Terrasse zum Garten sowie Balkone zur Straßenfassade, die aber später verschlossen wurden, um mehr Fläche im Innenraum zu erhalten. Die Betonwände wurden zum Teil aus dem Schutt der kriegszerstörten Gebäude, die im Hansaviertel standen, hergestellt. Die Architekten wählen typische Materialien der 50er/60er Jahre, wie etwa Klinker und Sichtbeton. Erst später wurden diese Flächen verputzt. Nach diversen Umbauten und einem längeren Leerstand wurde das Gebäude 2001 zu einem großzügigen Wohnhaus umgebaut und teilweise überformt: Die Straßenfassade wird stark verändert, Fenster des Gartenraums mit Einbauten verschlossen, die Pergola verschlossen, Kamine aufgesetzt sowie Eingangshalle mit Treppe umstrukturiert. Die Umplanungen für eine junge Familie verlangten nach einem zeitgemäßen Innenraumkonzept, dass durch neue Materialien und Formen geprägt ist, die jedoch auf die 50er und 60er Jahre Bezug nehmen. Der bauzeitliche Grundriss wird durch die Innenarchitektur subtil ablesbar gemacht. Die Fassade zur Straße, Pergola und Lichtbänder werden wieder geöffnet und das Haus dadurch lichter und durchlässiger gemacht, wie es der Ursprungsgedanke der Architektur war. Die Fassade wird im Sinne der Denkmalpflege umgestaltet und zum Teil rückgebaut. Im Erdgeschoss wird der zentrale Wohnraum mit drei spezifischen Räumen für verschiedene Funktionen umlagert: Die Bibiliothek aus Eiche, die Küche aus Aluminium und die Gartenlunge mit grünem Leder. Im Zentrum eine mehrfarbige Sitzlandschaft und ein amorph geformter Esstisch. Im Obergeschoss werden 3 Objekte eingestellt, die im Inneren Bäder und Ankleiden aufnehmen. Sie sind mit unterschiedlichen strukturierten Linoleumarten bekleidet. Das zentrale Treppenhaus wird Teil der Objekte und führt den Besucher vertikal durch das Haus. Der Treppenraum wurde mit dafür konzipierten Kunstwerken von Maria Hinze und Maik Teriete gestaltet. Die Wandbemalung von Maria Hinze wird von der Wand auf den Textilien weitergeführt und ist von außen auf den Vorhängen sichtbar. Das Umbau- und Entwurfskonzept ist eine behutsame, subtil narrative aber auch zeitgenössische Gestaltung für spannende Innen- und Außenräume. We opened this room into a larger home office. We removed the previous separating walls and staged the room to show as a home office space, perfect for two desks, a sitting area and storage compartments. We repaired the previously damaged walls and installed new drywall, then painted the rooms and trim work surrounding the doors and windows.
