The space has doubled in size by moving the wall out 2 feet and moving the range to the far wall so it now has usable workspaces flanking it.. Isn't that amazing? I have working in this complex before but it always thrilling to open up a tiny kitchen and make it function so well.

Putting cabinetry along the back wall of our Condo project would have looked clumsy butted up against the window. Instead we made this otherwise awkward corner shine with a striking marble splash back to the ceiling. Keeping the upper cabinets white (which keeps the space open and spacious) adding a splash of colour below and hint of timber and brass means that this small kitchen is not small on style.

The kitchen, entry, and living room is all contained at the front of the house facing the ocean. To get up to the loft space a ships ladder was built. The ladder can be raised and lowered with the push of a remote. The custom painted (Benjamin Moore White Dove) shaker cabinets were built and finished in our shop. A bench seat with storage was integrated into the island. Pine was used to cover the entire cathedral ceiling. A White Oak wide plank engineered floor was installed throughout the home. An adorable but worn down beach bungalow gets a complete remodel and an added roof top deck for ocean views. The design cues for this home started with a love for the beach and a Vetrazzo counter top! Vintage appliances, pops of color, and geometric shapes drive the design and add interest. A comfortable and laid back vibe create a perfect family room. Several built-ins were designed for much needed added storage. A large roof top deck was engineered and added several square feet of living space. A metal spiral staircase and railing system were custom built for the deck. Ocean views and tropical breezes make this home a fabulous beach bungalow.

This property hasn't been updated since the 199o's and was very out-of-date. The client's wish was to keep the rooms light and bright, with a Mid Century, modern twist. This was accomplished with 2 months of prep work and 5 months total for completion. The drab blue carpeting was removed and porcelain hickory honey floors laid throughout, pulling each detail together. The kitchen cabinetry was replaced with driftwood floating shelves and marble countertops. It was kept light and bright with pops of color and an eye catching palm feature wall. Touched off with classic, brass hardware throughout the home, and drop pendant light fixtures. The client was extremely satisfied with the interior design project.

Went with a local custom cabinet maker, Woodworking Unlimited, Hanson, MA and have a long standing relationship with a great GC, James M Cyr, Norwell, MA. We gained a lot of storage and working space into this smaller kitchen (we downsized from a 3000sf colonial) much of it with the thoughtful planning and craftsmanship of the professionals we worked with.
