The approach to the Caza comes from an allocated parking space for the occupant. New asphalt driveway was installed as part of the build with added lilli pills hedge planted as an edge to the private open space. The roof slopes away from the entry side and all water is collected to holding tanks for use inside.

A seamless back exterior is split into two separate spaces; one which allows outdoor entertainment and another which allows private relaxation from the master bedroom.

They say good things come in small packages ... and this home is exactly that! Tasteful & simple, this designer bach has epic views, great indoor-outdoor flow and light, bright open spaces.

The client brief required three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an annex laundry with an open plan kitchen, dining, living areas extending onto covered front and rear decks. The beach cottage feel was to be maintained with a no shoes, no worries attitude. A three bedroom house with ensuite and bathroom and annex laundry was the spatial requirements with front and rear covered decks.

The proposed weekend retreat, located in the Hauraki Gulf will be utilizing a selection of new building technologies to produce a highly performing building. Some so called ECO houses are essentially a standard house with things plugged into them. Our ehouse® is designed to be high performing even without the solar panels! “if it performs well in the first place you don’t need all the expensive high generating devices, because you don’t need them”. This project is aiming to achieve a Homestar rating of 8. This may not sound all that impressive however we intend on achieving this without the use of solar panels, solar hot water or wind generation.
