When our clients come to us with a tight schedule and budget, we know exactly what to do. That’s exactly what happened recently when a remote homeowner from New York contacted Mary Ann and Aiden Fabrics for design help. She purchased a home in Wild Dunes, and within two weeks the plan was finalized with indoor and outdoor furniture, fabrics, rugs, window treatments and wall paint. Mary Ann was able to get everything installed in time for the spring renting season, which is a must in this area. The client’s main goal was to work with durable, washable fabrics, and she also wanted to stay within her budget. Mary Ann chose a sofa with Tempotest outdoor fabric. Her client smartly chose ‘cordless’ woven shades to avoid issues with small children. The end result is a beautiful space for many families to enjoy on the Isle of Palms!

New window seat adds seating and storage to the space. We added thick new moldings for architectural interest; dark hardwood floors provide additional warmth. The vintage chandelier draws color from the nearby ocean and adds a spark of color and interest. Solid wood Parsons dining table and the Wishbone chairs provide an interesting mix of geometric shapes, styles and textures. The sisal rug grounds the area and adds another natural element. The window seat was added to create much-needed additional seating and extra storage space.

Modern meets beach. A 1920's bungalow home in the heart of downtown Carmel, California undergoes a small renovation that leads to a complete home makeover. New driftwood oak floors, board and batten walls, Ann Sacks tile, modern finishes, and an overall neutral palette creates a true bungalow style home. Photography by Wonderkamera.

Stainless steel hammered dining table in open living area on the beach. A small weekend beach resort home for a family of four with two little girls. Remodeled from a funky old house built in the 60's on Oxnard Shores. This little white cottage has the master bedroom, a playroom, guest bedroom and girls' bunk room upstairs, while downstairs there is a 1960s feel family room with an industrial modern style bar for the family's many parties and celebrations. A great room open to the dining area with a zinc dining table and rattan chairs. Fireplace features custom iron doors, and green glass tile surround. New white cabinets and bookshelves flank the real wood burning fire place. Simple clean white cabinetry in the kitchen with x designs on glass cabinet doors and peninsula ends. Durable, beautiful white quartzite counter tops and yes! porcelain planked floors for durability! The girls can run in and out without worrying about the beach sand damage!.
