Love the Mansion! I have worked with Andrea for several years and she is Great! She has helped us in several areas of our house and has a great sense of style. Truly recommend Andrea and The Mansion!

Emily gets top stars for her quick understanding of my style. She didn't quit until she found what I was looking for, being careful to honor my budget requirements. Her suggestions for new window fabrics and shades, furniture and lamps to coordinate with and update my existing furniture was great. When I wanted a piece of art for my wall and couldn't find one, she painted one for me! She also went the extra mile to find someone to build a desk for me! Emily's attention to detail is super, and I really appreciate her after-sale follow-up. Emily is not only a professional, she is warm, fun, available and accommodating. I truly am pleased with her services, and would highly recommend her for any decorating project!

I highly recommend Emily Hughes! Emily is kind, professional, and a joy to work with. I had some general ideas of what I wanted to do with design and color and Emily came back with ideas that exceeded my expectations. Our first project was our master bedroom and bath, but we'll be working on our main level next. We will most definitely be working with Emily again!!

Emily was fantastic to work with. She worked very closely with us in decorating/furnishing our basement. Emily was very accessible and also prompt. We lived out of town and she was always willing to come to the house to look over fabric selections or bring additional decorative touches to the house to look at. She also painted a beautiful triptych painting for us that adds so much to the lower level. We have received so many compliments from friends and family & couldn't have pulled it off without Emily's help.

Emily designed and installed window treatments in our foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, two bathrooms and a bedroom over the last 2 years. She made the process very convenient with her willingness to meet us in the evenings and bring samples and options to our home. Emily made all the arrangements and was present when the window treatments. Handled the correction when there were errors. We were very happy with "The Mansion" and with Emily Hughes. We would highly recommend both.

Emily was wonderful providing suggestions, advice, and product samples in a timely manner. My window treatments get lots of compliments! i could count on Emily to be there in person or via phone at any time! I so appreciated her attention and highly recommend her services!

I strolled into The Mansion in Iowa City a few months after we bought our home looking for some ideas. My husband and I had given away most of the furniture of both our homes and consolidated 70 years of accumulated possessions and treasures into a new home. We had several empty rooms. Emily was friendly and helpful chatting with me about our new marriage and our move. When it was clear that I did not have a strong sense of what we were looking for, Emily offered to come over and look at our space so that she could give us some decorating tips, as we had already bought a new rug and sofa. She made a brief visit to our home and then returned within a few days with terrific ideas. She really "got" both my husband and I and seemed to truly understand what we wanted to do in our new home. She gave us wonderful suggestions for colors and furnishings. She was so helpful and I never felt pressured into buying from her store. We did, however, make several purchases and we are delighted with everything we bought. In fact, I bought some chairs for the porch from a different store and I have regretted it since, as they don't fit as well as what Emily had suggested. Emily really listens to us and does not push her own agenda or what she thinks is the current vogue. Emily is so good natured and patient; she has a super sense of how to make our ideas come to life. She was especially helpful giving me suggestions about where to hang our artwork and where to put things that we did not want to part with. She also is willing to continue to work with us over months so that we can acquire drapes or flooring or other expensive items over a period of time instead of all at once. She has a wide variety of fabrics and colors that we like in her file, and makes suggestions off the cuff any time I stop in the store. I highly recommend Emily as she has bright and creative ideas and a great sense of style and color. Emily is absolutely marvelous to work with; she is very responsive and professional. I have made a promise to myself to consult with only her in the future and not make any more impulse purchases, as we complete our house project (interrupted at this time by travel).

Emily helped me select the chairs for my home office. Her artistic eye and caring attitude gave me confidence to make the decisions. I felt like she was as excited about the project as I was! I can not thank her enough!

Emily Hughes is amazing. My husband and I are both busy youngish professionals. We desperately needed someone to help us with interior decorating. Emily was very professional. She came over to our home, took pictures, and later presented us great design plans for several rooms in our home, incorpating some pieces that we already had. She so far has set up a fantastic living room that is great for entertaining, but also relatively kid friendly. She also helped redesign lighting and window treatments in both the living room and dining room. My husband has a strong prefence for mid century modern design. He was blown away by the end result. The price was what I had expected, not cheap, but not extravagant. All of the furniture, rugs, art work, and light fixtures are high quality. Another great part was having the whole room put together in one afternoon while we were at work. It was so wonderful to come home to. We are going to continue to work with Emily to maximize the potential of all the rooms in our hourse.

We wanted new drapes for the living room of our historic house. In addition to an appropriate fabric pattern (vintage, elegant, but not gaudy), we needed custom size/cut to fit around radiators. Emily was very patient with us as we strived to find an appropriate fabric pattern at a cost within our budget. As we gradually narrowed it down to a small group, she ordered larger swatches for us to have in our house and look at under different lighting conditions. Because Emily set up things in advance, once we chose a fabric/pattern, the making/sewing of the drapes and their installation occured in a short time frame. The new drapes look very nice! For custom drapes, we recommend The Mansion.

I worked with Emily at The Mansion to select two sofas and a chair that I have been waiting about ten years to purchase. She had me sit in similar items in the showroom to make sure they would be comfortable. They just arrived and I love them! The fabric ties in with my artwork. Looks lovely!
