Our clients had a vision to turn this completely empty second story store front in downtown Beloit, WI into their home. The space now includes a bedroom, kitchen, living room, laundry room, office, powder room, master bathroom and a solarium. Embracing the notion of commissioning artists and hiring a General Contractor in a single stroke, the new owners of this Grove Park condo hired WSM Craft to create a space to showcase their collection of contemporary folk art. The entire home is trimmed in repurposed wood from the WNC Livestock Market, which continues to become headboards, custom cabinetry, mosaic wall installations, and the mantle for the massive stone fireplace. The sliding barn door is outfitted with hand forged ironwork, and faux finish painting adorns walls, doors, and cabinetry and furnishings, creating a seamless unity between the built space and the décor. Large Owner’s bathroom and closet renovation in West Chester PA. These clients wanted to redesign the bathroom with 2 closets into a new bathroom space with one large closet. We relocated the toilet to accommodate for a hallway to the bath leading past the newly enlarged closet. Everything about the new bath turned out great; from the frosted glass toilet room pocket door to the nickel gap wall treatment at the vanity. The tiled shower is spacious with bench seat, shampoo niche, rain head, and frameless glass. The custom finished double barn doors to the closet look awesome. The floors were done in Luxury Vinyl and look great along with being durable and waterproof. New trims, lighting, and a fresh paint job finish the look.

Corian Venaro White was installed on the shower enclosure with a custom shower seat and a custom frameless shower door in brushed nickel. On the flooring Calacatta 12x12 tile floor with programmable touch heated flooring. An Aarcher elongated seat toilet in white was installed.

This bathroom started out with builder grade materials: laminate flooring, fiberglass shower enclosure and tub, and a wall going all the way to the ceiling, causing the shower to look more like the bat cave than a place where you would want to wash off the worries of the world. The first plan of attack was to knock the full wall down to a halfway w/ glass, allowing more natural light to come into the shower area. The next big change was removing the tub and replacing it with more storage cabinetry to keep the bathroom free of clutter. The space was then finished off with shaker style cabinetry, beautiful Italian tile in the shower, and incredible Cambria countertops with an elegant round over edge to finish things off.

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、マスターバスルームの大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
