We started with a small, 3 bedroom, 2 bath brick cape and turned it into a 4 bedroom, 3 bath home, with a new kitchen/family room layout downstairs and new owner’s suite upstairs. Downstairs on the rear of the home, we added a large, deep, wrap-around covered porch with a standing seam metal roof.

About five years ago, these homeowners saw the potential in a brick-and-oak-heavy, wallpaper-bedecked, 1990s-in-all-the-wrong-ways home tucked in a wooded patch among fields somewhere between Indianapolis and Bloomington. Their first project with SYH was a kitchen remodel, a total overhaul completed by JL Benton Contracting, that added color and function for this family of three (not counting the cats). A couple years later, they were knocking on our door again to strip the ensuite bedroom of its ruffled valences and red carpet—a bold choice that ran right into the bathroom (!)—and make it a serene retreat. Color and function proved the goals yet again, and JL Benton was back to make the design reality. The clients thoughtfully chose to maximize their budget in order to get a whole lot of bells and whistles—details that undeniably change their daily experience of the space. The fantastic zero-entry shower is composed of handmade tile from Heath Ceramics of California. A window where the was none, a handsome teak bench, thoughtful niches, and Kohler fixtures in vibrant brushed nickel finish complete the shower. Custom mirrors and cabinetry by Stoll’s Woodworking, in both the bathroom and closet, elevate the whole design. What you don't see: heated floors, which everybody needs in Indiana. The client needed an additional shower room upstairs as the only family bathroom was two storeys down in the basement. At first glance, it appeared almost an impossible task. After much consideration, the only way to achieve this was to transform the existing WC by moving a wall and "stealing" a little unused space from the nursery to accommodate the shower and leave enough room for shower and the toilet pan. The corner stack was removed and capped to make room for the vanity. White metro wall tiles and black slate floor, paired with the clean geometric lines of the shower screen made the room appear larger. This effect was further enhanced by a full-height custom mirror wall opposite the mirrored bathroom cabinet. The heated floor was fitted under the modern slate floor tiles for added luxury. Spotlights and soft dimmable cabinet lights were used to create different levels of illumination.

In this project we took the existing tiny two fixture bathroom and remodeled the attic space to create a new full bathroom capturing space from an unused closet. The new light filled art deco bathroom achieved everything on the client's wish list.

Waschtisch und Waschbecken in Corian. Der Waschtischunterschrank, bestehend aus vier Schubladen in Eiche massiv, fingergezinkt und einer innenliegenden Tür. Die Fronten und die Griffleiste wurden mit Eiche furniert und lackiert. Der komplette Waschtischunterschrank wurde ebenfalls mit Corian ummantelt. Als Spritzschutz dient ebenfalls eine Corian Aufkantung, in der eine Steckdose und ein Radioregler eingelassen sind. Darüber befindet sich ein 8mm starker Spiegel. Nebenan befindet sich ein abgeschrägtes Sideboard mit Sitzniesche. Die vier Türen sowie die Schubladen wurden mit Weißlack lackiert. Eine ebenfalls grifflose, weiß lackierte Abwurfklappe wurde bündig in die Wand eingepasst

This bathroom was updated with epoxy reflective floors with a matte finish. A solid epoxy countertop matched with a bright interior paint. It's amazing what fresh aqua blue & coral pinks can brighten & update a room.

The Goody Nook, named by the owners in honor of one of their Great Grandmother's and Great Aunts after their bake shop they ran in Ohio to sell baked goods, thought it fitting since this space is a place to enjoy all things that bring them joy and happiness. This studio, which functions as an art studio, workout space, and hangout spot, also doubles as an entertaining hub. Used daily, the large table is usually covered in art supplies, but can also function as a place for sweets, treats, and horderves for any event, in tandem with the kitchenette adorned with a bright green countertop. An intimate sitting area with 2 lounge chairs face an inviting ribbon fireplace and TV, also doubles as space for them to workout in. The powder room, with matching green counters, is lined with a bright, fun wallpaper, that you can see all the way from the pool, and really plays into the fun art feel of the space. With a bright multi colored rug and lime green stools, the space is finished with a custom neon sign adorning the namesake of the space, "The Goody Nook”.

We turned this older 1950s bathroom into a modern bathroom. We added a brand new vanity, mirror, faucets, shower glass encasing, and a new floor. The shower has beautiful white marble tiles and white hexagon tiles on the floor. The new vanity has nickel hardware, flat-panel cabinets, and a white solid stone countertop.

The clients were keen to keep upheaval to a minimum so we kept the existing layout, meaning there was no need to relocate the services and cutting down the time that the bathroom was out of action. Underfloor heating was installed to free up wall space in this bijou bathroom, and plentiful bespoke and hidden storage was fitted to help the clients keep the space looking neat. The clients had a selection of existing items they wanted to make use of, including a mirror and some offcuts from their kitchen worktop. We LOVE a no-waste challenge around here, so we had the mirror re-sprayed to match the lampshades, and had the offcuts re-worked into the surface and splash back of the vanity.

In this Spa Bath Siteline frameless flat panel Cantor door style in Walnut finish cabinetry was installed. The countertop on the vanity is Solid Surface Hi-Macs Terni with 6” high backsplash. In the shower is MSI Hazelwood quartz on the bench top, curb top and niche shelf. Radiance LED lighted mirror. Brizo Virage faucet in chrome finish and Pulse Power Shot Shower System showerhead and handheld in chrome. Moen Voss collection accessories in chrome include towel bar, towel ring, robe hooks, toilet paper holder, toilet tank lever. A Kohler Cimmaron white comfort ht toilet. Thermosol Steam Unit components: Generator, square steam head, square microtouch control in chrome. 3/8” heavy clear glass steam shower enclosure. The shower tile is 11x23 Contessa Oro Polish wall tile; 1x2 Keystone Urban Putty Speckle for shower floor and ceiling. The flooring is 12x24 Contess Oro matte finish tile.

Harlequin’s Salinas flamingo wallpaper and antiqued gold leaf sconces make this an unforgettable en-suite bath.
