“Amkirk took a landscape design for our house and turned it into a backyard that allows the opportunity to spend many lovely hours together as a family. It was designed such a way that our family is able play many sports in the back yard like beach volleyball, golf, ice hockey and ball. The Amkirk team was a pleasure to have working in our yard. They were pleasant, flexible, entertaining and helpful. His advice in picking suitable plants was much appreciated. “Concrete genius is the only way to go for concrete. I used to work in the industry pouring sidewalks, garage pads and basements and in all that time I never worked with someone as easy and efficient to work with as Concrete Genius. “Derek and his father were contracted to build a generational work of art as the centerpiece for our cabin. We talked over our needs with Derek and gave him artistic license to complete the project as he saw fit. The photo's will show that he exceeded expectations as the project is truly beautiful. Derek provided an accurate estimate of cost and stayed within that budget. He worked through some uncomfortable circumstances and was able to successfully work through some conflicts with other contractors on the site that were not his responsibility.”

玄関・勝手口の床や外部のカーポート、浴室などの床に施される工法に「土間コンクリート」があります。「土間」とは、床を張らずに地面のまま、叩き土や漆喰塗りなどで仕上げた箇所を指し、「土間コン」や「土間打ち」とも呼ばれる「土間コンクリート」は、地面の高さを均等に揃え（路地工事）砂利や砕石を敷き入れ（路盤工事）、突き固め（転圧工事）、その上に直接コンクリートを打って作られた床を意味します。ひび割れを対策として、ワイヤーメッシュ（メッシュ筋）を入れるのが一般的です。土間コンクリートの仕上げには、コンクリートの表面をなめらかにするために金属製のコテで仕上げる「金ゴテ仕上げ」、ハケでつけられた表面の模様が滑り効果を高める「ハケ引き仕上げ」、硬化遅延材を吹き付けた後デッキブラシこすり、コンクリートに含まれている砂利が表面に出るよう仕上げる「洗い出し仕上げ」などがあります。
