I design photographs Since 1987, I've been refining my approach to emulate that of my clients in ways they generally don't expect. Few builders, architects or designers plan to meet someone with their passion. But that's quickly overcome the moment they see what I do and how I do it. Once I've satisfied the requirements of the shot in your mind, I shoot more. And my shot, thanks to my background in marketing and advertising, may just have something you hadn't considered.
Marilynn Kay Photography's work is known for the beautiful lighting in our images. Every shot is perfectly exposed with detail in both the highlights (think "windows") and shadows. Enhanced windows, sky replacements, and fires in fireplaces and fire pits are all provided as part of our service and you'll never see shadows created by flash! Our photos have appeared on the cover of many magazines, on TV, and featured on zillow.com, The Wall Street Journal and other publications.

I am a freelance photographer and social media manager specializing in documentary photography and business promotion. Primarily, I focus on photographing interiors and exteriors (of homes, businesses, etc.) and promoting them through various online media, particularly on my blog. As a photojournalist, my style of photography captures candid moments and emotions. This translates into photographing homes, where I try to take large wide-angle shots as well as close-up accent shots to capture the personality of each home.

A native of New Jersey, David has lived and traveled overseas for many years and, since returning to the States in 2002, quickly established himself as a reputable freelance photographer and artist. His images have been published in major publications around the world, and he has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and venues from New York City to Asheville. David’s efforts have been awarded many prestigious accolades, while his life story and career have been covered in several publications and TV features. David is also an educator, speaker and writer (and aspiring rock star). He enjoys being a stranger in a strange land and taking on new artistic challenges, whether abroad or nearer to his own back yard. He strives to bring a fresh approach to his craft, successfully capturing the mood of the moment, as well as, perhaps, an entire journey. In 2013, David officially split off his "fine art" services from his freelance photography activities. After a 2+ year stint in the Asheville River Arts District, David now operates his business activities from his home in Weaverville, NC. He is currently represented by the Miya Gallery in Weaverville, NC and the Woolworth Walk Gallery in Downtown Asheville, NC. He is actively seeking additional opportunities to show his work in the region at art shows and in galleries. Please contact him should you have, or know of, and opportunity for him to exhibit his fine artworks. For more about David's creative services, including commissioned shooting for publication (and commercial work), as well as his popular photo tours and workshops, please visit his "parent" business website www.DijonCreative.com.
