“Spirited Gardner Julia Bunn in 2014 helped us design and build a rain garden for our condo that successfully and beautifully diverts storm water into our front yard in Chicago. Julia clearly explained which native plants would do well in our shady, sandy spot, and she provided us a clear map for our new garden. On "dig day" she did an excellent job of corralling our volunteer crew to ensure we correctly dug our rain swale and planted our plants. Julia also provided guidance over the summer on routine care and on how to put our garden to bed for the winter. I'm looking forward to seeing our rain garden evolve as it matures over the years. “We renovated our home in Logan Square and the process absolutely destroyed our yard. We are so glad we found Kris and F Gomez to bring it back to life. First of all, we needed some serious grading. Not only was our ground not level, but we needed to build up the ground near the house by about six inches. We also needed to connect the sidewalk to the back deck in this same area and do it in a way that would drain water away from the house. F Gomez nailed it. They put in a drain system underground starting near our downspout that carries rain water to a planted hydrangea. Then they did the most precise paver work I've ever seen and laid sod in both the front and back yard. They also ripped out the concrete near our front steps and laid down new beautiful blue stone pavers (once again fixing a previous grading issue that caused water to puddle at our steps). Look at the before and after pics - they speak for themselves. Then consider that they did it all in less than three full days. Plus, Kris was easy to work with and the crew was punctual and friendly. To top it all off, I thought they were fairly priced. Don't hesitate. Just call Kris. She'll make it easy.”
