We get many compliments for our landscaping from passersby. Since we completed the work, we needed a repair after we backed our car into the stone retaining wall. The firm was responsive and repaired the damage at a reasonable cost.”

He had to work with the county for rebates they were offering. He made that easy. When it turned into more work than was anticipated, he did not come back wanting to raise the price. From concept to completion, the entire team and experience, led by designer Cathy Carr, was first rate. I would describe us as "involved" clients and our input and feedback was welcomed throughout--including thoughtful understanding of parts of the project we wished to plant ourselves. The 2010 project involved many moving parts, including removal of existing concrete/asphalt driveway, stormwater flooding mitigation, installation of flagstone patio, water feature, stone steps and driveway pavers, as well as plant installation. When the following spring thaw revealed water seepage issues, they returned without hesitation to reroute drainage and solve the problem. The projects have transformed our outdoor living space and bring us great joy as we spend lots of time outside with family and friends.”

“Working w Jesse at Tillerman Gardens was a great experience. He listened carefully to what we wanted. And rather than start thinking about the ways it wouldn't work, like earlier landscapers we worked with, his mind immediately went to how he could make it work, and how he could do it at a reasonable cost. He and his crew were just a joy to work with. They have a real passion for their work and they are so good at it. In addition to an amazing patio, they did a great job with a tricky concrete project, and moved four giant boulders down a narrow half-driveway into place in our backyard -- no easy task. Jesse was constantly in touch about design and implementation details (though my sense is he would be fine making decisions if that is what the client wanted). It was clear throughout the job that Jesse was laser-focused on getting us the patio we wanted. He was constantly making changes and adding bits and pieces we wanted, most of which didn't show up on the final invoice. A few weeks after they finished, the big spring storms starting hitting. I emailed him with some small issues regarding the drainage pattern, and he emailed right back and offered to help if necessary. I feel so fortunate we ended up working with Jesse.
