“We recently made the decision to renovate our small 20+ year old kitchen. Although we knew generally what we wanted it to look like, neither of us have any design experience so we didn’t quite know how to proceed. Since our kitchen is small and we were able to perform much of the work ourselves, the main issue for us was coordinating a consistent look in terms of style, design and color. We contacted Jennifer Horvath at Wild Plum Interiors & Staging of Downers Grove to help us incorporate the elements we wanted into an overall plan. She was very nice, professional, easy to work with, and quite skilled at coordinating different design elements. Many times designers pretend to listen to their customers, but then develop a look the designer likes. But Jennifer really listened to what we wanted and went with us to a local showroom to help us make some further decisions. She made suggestions that achieved the look we wanted, while enhancing it with nuanced and subtle design/color suggestions that turned a good end-result into a great end-result! We never realized that getting just the right colors and characteristics of the various elements (cabinets, tile, counters, lighting, paint, etc.) was so important, but with Jennifer’s help we were able to make the right decisions and it turned out great and we are thrilled with the finished project! We would definitely consult with her again on future projects.”
