“We cannot convey through a review how GREAT working with John at CHR Contractors was. We originally found John through Angi's List while getting quotes to have a raised Trex deck built behind our house. He was responsive during the quoting process, and all through the project once we moved forward with him. We could not be happier with the work he did, and the quality we received, especially considering his price was VERY competitive. Since the original work on the deck, we have had John fully remodel our kitchen (including combining 2 separate rooms into a larger kitchen area), a full bathroom remodel down to the studs, and a new laundry room upstairs in our master bedroom. All were done at very fair pricing, quickly, and with the quality we wanted. John was particularly good about making sure if there was something that needed to be decided on, he laid out all the pros and cons for my wife and I, and let us make an educated decision on how we wanted to move forward, even when the alternative may have been more difficult and time consuming for him and his team. During the process of our remodeling, we have used John's recommendations for an electrician, a plumber, a hard wood installation/sanding/staining company, a carpet installer, and a quartz countertop installer. All came in significantly less expensive than the quotes I was able to get on my own, and all did quality work. There are plenty of contractors around, but few are decent, and even fewer I would call "good". John is a GREAT one. We cannot recommend him enough. Robert & Audrey”

“There are three words I would use to describe Brent: honest, prompt, and knowledgeable. We hired Brent to refinish our basement, which had flooded from the previous owners and renovate our master bedroom and bathroom, which had major structural and floor issues. The first thing he did was assess the situation and because of his experience and knowledge in real estate, he also talked to us about what changes would be most beneficial to us if we decided to sell at a later time. He then drafted an estimate of the project, including details about what would be done and at what time. Throughout the project, if we ever had a question, he was prompt in his reply and very upfront, which we thought was very important. Details of the project: - Basement: drywall (new closet), electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpet - Bedroom/Bathroom: drywall (most of the drywall was removed due to a complete new layout in the bathroom with new closets), HVAC, electrical, tiling, doorless shower, windows, painting, hardwood floors in the bedroom, installation of sliding door, and a designed, tiled wall going into the shower We've had a few different people do projects at our house prior to Brent and none of them even came close to the professionalism, knowledge, and execution that Brent and his team displayed. I would highly recommend Brent to anyone.”

“In August 2014, we decided to do a full remodel of our 70s kitchen. We hired Tranquility Builders of Oswego, IL We presented them with our design requirements and they improved upon them. Bev Totsch and her subcontractors were always on time and were respectful of our home. Everything was replaced and remodeled -- walls, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, and appliances. We were told the project would take about five weeks and it did. The end results were stunning! Everyone who's seen our new kitchen has been very impressed. “Fantastic Results! I hired James and his crew in 2020 to assist me with a "flip" on the North Shore. It was a very old house riddled with issues. “Whelan has helped us completely redo our house. They redesigned our kitchen, moved our laundry room upstairs, redesigned our master bathroom, redid 2 other bathrooms, replaced half our windows, front door, hard wood floors, deck, and water heater. Throughout all the projects they worked with us on the design and cost upfront and stuck to it. They communicated well during the project and always left the house clean, even in the midst of messy projects.
