“A bathtub overflowed, resulting in lots of damage to the floor below. To make sure no mold took hold, air holes were put in the ceiling below the bathtub and baseboards and carpet were ripped up. “I cannot say enough about Newton Carpenters. We had interviewed and gotten estimates from about 4 or 5 contractors and decided to go with them for our major kitchen renovation. Right from the beginning, Greg came over and listened to our vision-met with us frequently, brought samples to see if we were in sync and on the same page. He is extremely professional and hard working. He was respectful of our time and asked from the start when he could stay until and what time he could arrive, and if he could come on weekends!! He brought either one or two guys with him (plus the other specialty contractors that he brought in) who we got to know and like very much also. My kids were sad to see them leave. I tell my friends that these guys worked like a team of 15 people. For the amount of work that was done in my house, walls knocked down, floors put down thru almost the entire downstairs, lighting, plumbing, down drafts put in for stove. Large reinforments beams had to be put up to hold up the house and they had to pour concrete footings in basement. - This is of course only touching on some of the things they had to do. They completed the project in about two months which I think is unheard of. What is amazing about Greg and hard to find these days is his talent as a cabinet maker/carpenter. He is not just a contracter, he is an artist as well. I wanted old beams in my house and he made replications in his workshop that are unbelievable. They took days of hand scraping , chipping, banging, putting wormholes in and staining. These beams look like the real deal. The guys were clean and as I stated above super great to have around. I never had to worry about leaving my kids or the alone. Danielle, Greg's wife was our communicater and behind the scenes runs the Newton Carpenter operation very smoothly and seamlessly. She arranged all communication for sub-contractors. Gave us suggestions, set up payments, Another thing that was truly amazing in working together with Newton is that we formed a relationship which I think tends to happen in a larger project. What I mean by that is that, Greg wanted to be fair to us and we did to them when coming up against unforeseen snags that always happen in a large project. We will ALWAYS use them for every project now, big or small, and I think that's what was so great, we were all in sync and knew that. Some contractors would try and get their extra money or have several projects going leaving people feeling frustrated.
