“We commissioned Clachan Wood to make a bed for us - I had an idea of what we were looking for, and talked it through with Stuart. He came up with the suggestion of spalted beech and as soon as he showed me the raw timber, I knew he was right.
Stuart works to an incredible precision but still manages to get the soul into his work. The bed is a stunning piece of furniture, and is simply unique.
Stuart talks you through a project from the design, the raw materials, the construction and choice of finishes, and I found he was happy (I think) to involve us in every aspect of it as it progressed.
He takes immense pride in his creations, and many appear on his website to show others what he is capable of.
Don't expect to get all this for next to nothing, or the next day. When you see the skill, time and effort that go into everything he does, and consider that you are getting a bespoke item tailored to you, and unique, you'll understand that it will cost a bit more and take a little while longer.”
