“Mountainwood Homes performed magic on our 1986 galley kitchen. On Joel's first visit, he saw what the other contractors missed: what we thought was a bearing wall was only holding up the balcony. Reducing the size of this underused space allowed expansion of the kitchen below and removal of an unnecessary hallway. The dated drop ceiling and recessed light panel were replaced with a vaulted ceiling and hanging track lighting. Even though the original attic space above the range had access to the roof, the hood was not vented. The old electric range had a downdraft that never worked well and a small oven. The new kitchen sports an island gas cooktop, overhead vent with a chimney extending up through the vaulted ceiling, and a 30" wall convection oven. Heather provided great design with granite, backsplash, paint, and fixtures. Cabinetry by Cutting Edge was a perfect fit. We also extended the hardwood flooring into the dining room. The Mountainwood team was flexible as changes were needed, finished the project on time and produced great results.”

“We hired Arciform nine years ago to remodel our kitchen and add some touches to the adjoining rooms. The work itself was excellent; the people we worked with were top notch; and with one exception the sub-contractors were excellent as well. With regards to the exception, Arciform not only apologized but gave us a slight discount in that area of work and let us know they would no longer be working with the gentleman in question. Our first bid from Arciform came in about 20% over what we wanted to spend. Unlike the other company we were considering, Arciform didn't try to pressure us but spent several hours with us re-working the bid and showing us what could be eliminated at what cost. Highly recommend. Nine years later we continue to love our kitchen and find it a joy to be in.”

“We wanted to redo our basement to move our bedroom, my office and our TV room down there and also remodel the laundry area. The job was complicated. the bathroom had to be redesigned, boiler moved, steps moved and more. In other words it was a big, complicated by the fact that as I writer I needed to work. Nick and his staff started from scratch and redesigned the space in a way that we never imagined. We set up a day for the work to begin and an estimated time when it would be over. Not only did the folks they hired show up on time, but they were all real craftsman, the most pleasant of people who took pride in their work. All we did was leave a few boxes of doughnuts every day. The project was well-supervised; they were constantly concerned about our comfort, open to new ideas. When changes had to be made, they were explained to us, and in some case designs were improved from how they were originally drawn up. I had an idea to use space under the steps as a closet, and they said sure. They were constantly thinking about how to make things work better, and they did. When they were done, they came through with little bits of blue tape to mark spots that we would never have noticed but that they saw and which needed a little attention. It's been two years; the work has held up splendidly (and was on budget, by the way). Our house is comfortable in ways we had never imagined, thanks to Nick, his staff and his contractors. The fellow he hired to oversee the project was there every day. Any question we had, he answered thoughtfully and always with consideration for what we needed. If we had to do another big or small project, we wouldn't hesitate to call on Nick again and would urge anyone to do so.”
