“Working with Studio M and Marie Marx in particular was a joy from beginning to end . Marie oversaw a significant project including a complete kitchen renovation and addition to second story to transform a small master bedroom into a master suite complete with a sitting room, dressing room and high end four piece ensuite. Marie designed the changes, drew the plans, obtained the building permit, hired the contractor, oversaw the construction, chose the materials and finally completed the interior design. “Kevin Crozier designed our Boathouse with living quarters above. Our footprint was pre-determined by local bylaws, which was a limitation.He listened carefully to our needs, from both a function, direction of light and shade, and style point of view. He put together three very different draft plans, all of which surprisingly, met our criterion. After careful deliberation, we concluded that the plan that we initially liked the least, was by far and away the best for our needs. Kevin stuck to our schedule, and was extremely helpful in evaluating the three draft plans, as per their strengths and trade offs. He was able to be critical from a technical point of view.. He made adjustments to the chosen plan, based on suggestions that we discussed. Kevin stayed within budget throughout the process. During construction, we realized an addition to our design, would add tremendous utility, and Kevin quickly put the addendum together, so that construction was not interrupted. He did a great job for us, and we would call him first for future projects.”

“Murray Arnott and my wife and I have been working together for the last 2 years on a new Post and Beam Home design in Ventnor NJ, on the waterfront. My experience with him has been nothing less than fabulous. Murray is a consummate professional, a true artist in every sense of the word, with a seemingly unbridled sense of imagination. If you can envision it, he can design it. And where my vision struggles, his suggestions seem to be spot on. Murray was kind enough to rescue me after a failed attempt with another architect where the chemistry turned out to be less than adequate. Instead, murray's gentlemanly nature and easygoing demeanor set the tone which allowed me to describe, receive sketches, tweak them, describe some more, tweak some more, until we achieved a near 8000sq ft home on the water with a very large workout room with steamshower and sauna, game room, wine cellar, office, gourmet kitchen, 5 bedrooms 6.5 baths and a 2nd floor indoor pool and spa off the Den (secluded from the rest of the house appropriately of course). I didn't realize until half way through this project that Murray is actually quite the International award winning home designer. Not why I chose him and not why we are together at all, though it's quite the icing on top. The reason I was so attracted to Murray is because his designs, in general which illustrate so wonderfully curvaceous indoor outdoor living in log home and post and beam designs are just........quietly elegant and drop dead gorgeous. Look him up and see for yourself. We have just received our variance and zoning approvals which Murray has been walking us through every step of the way, from start to finish, and our plan is for him to stay intimately involved throughout the entire build process. Our Home is in the final throws of the building permitting process with all systems go. Thank you, Murray! “We bought an old house close to downtown Guelph in 2012. This home had been untouched by the previous owner since being built in 1942. Unto from Talo Architect drew up plans to add an addition as well as raise the roof in order provide extra living space. The house is now modern, comfortable and well designed. With his assistance and attention to detail we now have a home which is much admired and we hope to enjoy for many years. As we had little experience in the home renovation business his assistance proved invaluable. As well as drawing up detailed plans, he also helped find a contractor and was retained during the construction process.This proved invaluable with regard to resolution of construction difficulties. Communication during the whole process was excellent both with us and the contractor. His vast knowledge and past experience in the construction industry proved invaluable.
