Rees Architects

Thanks to Rees Architects we now have a stunning home and loft conversion, that works perfectly with the way we live as a family. The design process was smooth and well-structured with natural points for presentations and creative discussions. The project kicked off with a briefing chat about what sort of space we wanted to create, Dan then went away with his team and designed a solution that answered all aspects of our brief and surpassed our expectations. This is no mean feat! From that point on the various design details and fixtures and fittings were specified and I’m pretty sure we backed 99% of Dan’s suggestions across the job. The result is a beautifully considered renovation that naturally flows from one room to the next. We couldn’t be happier, and we’ll be forever grateful for all the hard work and heart that went into it.

We had the pleasure of meeting and working with Dan and the Team at Rees over the past couple of years. The initial consultation just felt right, he was thoughtful and considerate and spent allot of time understanding how we lived as a family and then came back with a couple of design options that clearly reflected how we could best use the space. The final design we chose was something we'd not even considered and involved a complete reconfiguration of the down stairs kitchen and patio area. Dan has a real eye for detail, this is also reflected in the materials he chooses and overall quality of the finish. We're delighted with the result and after living in the space for several months now we can see how all the design choices he suggested perfectly reflect the way we live and the way we wanted to use the space. Daniel Rees has been a thoughtful, understated, thorough, communicative, and highly professional architect. His ideas at the start of the project fundamentally changed our original concept for the better, and he had many practical suggestions that have increased the living quality of the build. The planning process was handled with patience and common sense. The plans and tender document were thorough. He is a diplomatic and sensible project manager. His team has a strong aesthetic sense which they bring to the build. The snagging process at the end was also carried out very carefully. The build involved several unforeseen challenges and disappointments, but Daniel Rees handled these patiently throughout.

Rees Architects were excellent in understanding our brief and delivering creative solutions within the budget. The team were practical and highly supportive in every aspect of the job. As we were abroad during the project, the team at Rees managed each stage of the project while keeping a fully updated. We were delighted with the results but not surprised as we fully expected the best!

I used Rees+Lee architects for an extension, reconfiguration and refurbishment to my flat. They supported through the whole process from planning permission to tendering for builders and signing off their work. Dan was super nice and helpful throughout the process and patiently guided me through choices as well as ensuring the building work was completed to the right standard. He was great at coming up with innovative solutions to difficult problems and getting a great look even with some budget constraints! I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

After a couple of other architects visited we were inspired by Dan Rees who gave us many different ideas for our kitchen extension and overall full house makeover. This was a big project for us and required us moving out completely for 3 months. Dan is an extremely nice guy who has a passion for his job and genuinely wanted us to be amazed with his creation. At the same time he listened to our requirements and incorporated them into his solutions. Dan is reliable and kept our project on track to allow us to leave our temporary accommodation on time. His payment structure is clearly set out from the outset so there weren't any surprises for us. We are so happy with the finished product and would highly recommend Dan to anyone with a build project in the planning.

From the outset we knew that we wanted something different and frankly a bit more adventurous than the usual Victorian terrace extension. We needed an architect who matched that ambition and one who was prepared to dig deep and use all their creative edge. Dan did not disappoint. A lengthy planning application, a complicated and highly technical build, Dan was on hand throughout. He worked very well with our chosen builder too, which makes the process a lot easier. A lot of people promise you the earth, Dan delivered.

I called a few different Architects to quote for plans for my extension. I eventually chose to give the application to Dan Rees. He did everything he said he was going to do, answered all my questions, followed up on and met all deadlines as well giving me good solutions with plenty of ideas. I would be confident in recommending Rees and Lee.

After trying a couple of other architects, hired Rees+Lee to design my house extension. I chose them because from the start they explained everything clearly and made me feel at ease with the process. They worked with what I wanted and created a design that met my family's needs far better than I could have imagined. Both Dan and Darren where highly knowledgeable and introduced clever products that made the building more energy efficient. The project was marginally over budget as we opted for different doors and windows. Rees+Lee kept to the deadlines discussed and I if there where any issues I was kept informed. Through out the project my queries where handled well. I would highly recommend Rees+Lee for their charming and professional manner but more over for their skill and ability to create beautiful spaces.

We completely gutted out and restored our 1850's London Mews house. Rees+Lee Architects took care of everything, from planning permission (notoriously difficult given a period property in a conservation area), to instructing builders & signing off on every part of the build. As a couple working in the City, it was comforting to have professionals there to 'hold our hand' throughout. Aside from the fantastic ideas & design, most impressive to us was the service received from the whole team, everyone was aware of our project when we called in and all were able to assist regardless of the query in a professional and timely manner. I'd thoroughly recommend these guys and will be using them again for futures projects. To all the team at Rees+Lee: thank you.
