Stylish Carpets

If i had the ability to leave 1 star, I would. We were referred to Justin when we bought our home in 2017. Ended up working with John (Who has tons of experience in this industry as we have been told.) My wife fell in love with the Karndean Vinyl plank. John came to the property for measurements and to give an inspection for the job. We were told we would need to use self leveling concrete to get the entire area level. Its an old house with an old slab, we were ok with that. John saw the state of the floor, and the issues with the slab at that point. Install came and went. Fast forward to 2020 when we started noticing places where the flooring was beginning to raise up at the seams. I reached out to get someone here to take a look. no one was available due to Covid, I understood that. Last month we realized we still hadn't heard from anyone so I called back. I Happened to get John (The original sales guy), i explained the issues. Without skipping a beat, he told me its probably Alkali seeping up from the foundation, and that he sees this Often. He set a time to come over a couple days later and confirmed this was the case. He told me with the old slabs that didn't have a vapor barrier this is a common issue. I asked him how it can be avoided, and he said the only way was to use a floating flooring instead of a direct glue-down product. I asked him why this wasn't mentioned before we purchased the flooring and install, he said it was because those products are new. (I know this is not true.) He told me none of this was covered under warranty because the flooring is fine, my slab and the product choice is the issue. After this meeting I called to get ahold of the owner Justin Holliday. After a week, I got a call back. After walking through the entire issue and previous conversation with John, Justin advised me that if they noticed issues when they were inspecting, they would have advised against the flooring. Justin essentially told me to kick rocks, they weren't responsible. I WAS told they would be happy to sell me new planks, get people out here to clear the Alkali and re-install where needed. But I would have this issue again in 3-5 years. After doing research on Alkali and flooring, I can say without a bit of reservation that John did know that I had an Alkali problem. I was in the process of removing Carpeting in the areas that were being re-floored. John was there to see the white powder on the concrete in patches (Alkali). The fact that we spent so much on this flooring that looks terrible is sickening. The entire issue could have been avoided with some direction and recommendations by an "Expert". Sadly, I think they were just after a sale of a high end product. After they have your money, you are on your own folks. Buyers Beware. Justin and John are bad business.

Ask for Marion - she went above and beyond helping us get the right amount of flooring and the best adhesive. She always has a wonderful, helpful, caring attitude. Our house was flooded from Hurricane Harvey and she has been God-sent to us. She has become a trustworthy friend and I highly recommend Marion to help get the best flooring at the best price in a timely manner. We will be ordering carpet next from Marion at Stylish Carpets -- also the best deal for carpeting.

Love Stylish Carpets!! Specifically Marion :) The name does not do this business justice. It's not just a Carpet store. It's a design studio. Marion is so helpful, resourceful, patient and really gets my style. I just describe what I'm thinking and she makes it appear. Works hard to make my house exactly what I want it to be, within my ideal budget. She takes my ideas and escalates them. That's just not common. I really appreciate her.

You will not be disappointed. I travelled 50 miles to work with Marion because she goes beyond what is expected to make customers happy. She provide flooring for my custom home and I used her again for an addition.
