When J.R. Thomas founded his company in 1976, he knew two things: first-rate landscaping and superior customer service. These are still our guiding philosophies. Even as landscaping trends change and we employ new technologies, we still service our clients the old-fashioned way, with personal attention. Our wide range of services include design & install, landscape maintenance, unique natural stone and engineered block accent walls, landscape lighting, natural stone and paver patios, stoops, landings and walkways. We use a variety of high-quality plant material that is well suited for the typical greater Cincinnati climate. Not only can we help you coordinate and contract your other projects, such as swimming pools, irrigation, decks and gazebos, we will work closely with your contractor to assure that the landscaping fits seamlessly into the entire visual package.

J.R, Thomas Landscaping team refreshed our landscaping several times over the past 20 years. The removal and replacement of very large arborvitae in our backyard and refreshing and correcting drainage was completed very professionally (as usual). Efficient, on time, great cleanup and finish is what they do best. The entire team did a fantastic job and our backyard looks amazing. We continue to use them over the years for smaller and major projects with excellent and long lasting results each time. Highly recommend this company. Well done!

Considering this is our first year of working with J.R. and his staff, we have been pleased with the results. Our needs may be somewhat different than others due to our type of property and our particular needs. But J.R.'s plan development and the work of the Team who did our work was very detailed, and responsive to our on-site requests. Attention to clean-up was excellent. Now that we have worked together for this first year, we look forward to developing a nice Spring and Fall routine that will continue to minimize our personal landscaping workload.

J.R. Thomas Landscaping is a business built on the foundation of honesty and hard work. I would highly recommend J.R. and his team, as J.R. is a man by his word. His team completed a front yard project for me in 2018, and I have asked him back to remodel my entire backyard. After project completion, my expectations were more than met, as he continues to check up on the project/landscaping to make sure that everything is still up to par. I highly recommend.

This company is extraordinary. I can recommend them without reservation. JR Thomas removed our cracked concrete walkway and provided us with a beautifully paved walk and carefully designed landscaping and lighting. We will definitely hire them for our next project.

In 2014 my husband and I engaged J.R. Thomas Landscaping, Inc. to design and install the landscape for our new home. The home site required significant preparation prior to installation and winter was fast approaching when the project started. The design that J.R. Thomas Landscaping, Inc. developed and installed is beautiful and enhances the value of our home. We highly recommend J.R. I used J.R. Thomas Landscaping to help design and deliver a complete refresh of the landscaping around the house. J.R. and his team did a great job in proposing the mix of plants they thought best to use, which they reviewed with me in detail. They took into account all aspects of our home (very little sun in front, etc.) and had a great design. As part of the design, I wanted to include a lamp post and some appropriate lighting throughout the design as well. They brought all of this together very nicely. Their attention to detail is great. It's been very nice to see the design then come to life the past several seasons.

Landscaping and lighting of entire backyard with pool installation. Grading, installation of all plants, river rock, decorative boulders and stepping stones. Excellent communication. Professional workers. Seamlessly worked with other contractors. Finished on budget and on time. Creative designs. Wonderful screening with neighbors. Reasonable price. Creative design. The project managers and workers exceeded my expectations and we were very satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend JR Thomas Landscaping to others.

We hired JR Thomas and his crew for a large yard project involving excavation, grading, design, and plantings. Every member of the JR Thomas crew is professional and respectful. The team was detail-oriented and was driven to achieve the best result. We have since hired JR Thomas for a large landscape lighting project and a smaller landscaping project. The results were exactly the same, FANTASTIC!

The landscaping done on our new home by another landscape designer did not meet our expectations. A neighbor referred us to J.R. Thomas, who talked with us at great length, took photos of our property, and developed a superior plan to enhance the design of our house and fulfill our plant preferences. J.R.'s team raised our beds for better drainage and amended them with superior bedding soil and mulch. Beds on sloped areas had been eroding, so J.R. added mulch that has not washed off. He also found trees and plants that are of interesting color and that will provide seasonal color variation. He was able to match our flood lights for additional lighting under our trees. J.R. wants to please his clients and offers careful consideration of each property. His prices are high, but we wish we'd used him initially instead of throwing money away on landscapers who cared and understood less.
