ALC Contractors has been servicing Baltimore and surrounding areas since 1993. Andrew Lohmeyer, owner of ALC, has been involved in the construction field for 30 years, utilizing his vast educational and professional background he is in the field monitoring every project. All company employees hold appropriate equipment licenses. ALC Contractors Design\Build believes that "no two clients have the same needs." Acting on this belief, we offer a variety of options our clients may pursue when selecting construction services. We will work with you through the design stage and budget to overcome any unique construction variables.

ALC Contractors did a total renovation of my kitchen. They estimated one month and finished one day early. From start to finish, I could not have been happier. They were always on time, and very professional. The quality and expertise of my new kitchen is exceptional. They were so great. I cannot recommended them more highly. Everyone that sees my kitchen absolutey love it!!!

ALC professionally handled our extensive home renovation. ALC was able to take a 50 year old house my wife and I fell in love with and convert it into an amazing living space with updated technology. The project was basically a gut/rehab and included replacing HVAC, electric, plumbing, duct work, flooring, etc. ALC also added a new garage, sun room, bedroom, finished basement and first floor master suite. The project took 8 months, so I feel I got to know Andy and his team very well. They are great people who enjoy working together and take great pride in their skills. Andy treated the project as if it was his own house, and came up with many great ideas along the way to enhance the outcome. I am not well versed in the technical aspects of construction, but my friends who are knowledgeable (and always tell me what they think), had only compliments for the craftmanship they saw on display throughout the project. Lastly, I very rarely post reviews, but ALC truly deserves to be recognized for their caring/ability to get the job done right!

Andrew and his crew are very professional! The transformation of our 1970's little rancher into an updated home with a new addition was absolutely amazing! Friends (and folks just driving by) have commented on how stunning our home looks after the renovation. During the construction, Andrew stopped in frequently to check on the progress and ensured that his subcontractors were doing top notch work. I appreciated that Andrew used reliable small businesses for his subcontracting services as well as some of the specialized materials, not just defaulting out of convenience to using the sometimes unreliable and impersonal big box retailers/vendors. Andrew settles for nothing less than perfection, including going behind and fixing mistakes from the prior builder's not so handy work. His core crew would ensure the work site was cleaned up everyday and they accommodated our schedule when needed. I highly recommend ALC Contractors, LLC if you want an honest assessment of how to improve your home and want to end up with a home founded on solid workmanship.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Andy and his team! He listened to us, drew up a design and showed us many different options and colors. He designed a gorgeous portico and replaced our siding. It was done in a timely manner, professional and with perfection. We look forward to starting the next home improvement project with ALC! Andy and his team breathed new life into our late 70's home! Our original goal was to update our kitchen, gain more storage, as well as square footage by bumping out the kitchen/dining areas. We thought we were out of luck once we discovered that we could not expand due to the distance of our well. Rather than giving up, Andy and the design team worked around that and found other ways to achieve the same goals. Although we don't actually have additional square footage, it feels like we do! And our kitchen is absolutely GORGEOUS! Our family's first reaction when they saw it was, "How is this even possible?". In addition to a perfect end result, we were extremely happy with the crew and parters. Brady and the crew were amazing and have extreme attention to detail. Robyn is a magician and helped us really think through our options while staying within our budget. She also understood my design vision more than I did! Joe and Allyson were extremely pleasant and helpful when choosing our flooring and the tiles guys were just awesome. If you have a project in mind and want an honest contractor and quality work, ALC is a solid choice! We have no regrets, just more project ideas!

Andy and his team absolutely exceeded every possible expectation we had...period. Together with our architect (Lehman Associates) Andy helped us re-imagine the house of our dreams, and helped us turn life's worst lemons (a massive house fire) into sweet lemonade (a gorgeous, 2-story, expanded, modern home). I could not have asked for a better contractor. Andy and his team are reliable, honest, trustworthy, creative, hard-working, patient, flexible, clear and communicative, driven, organized, meticulous, and truly customer-oriented. The quality, craftsmanship, and pride of the work is outstanding. Andy addressed each and every concern, question, or last-minute change we had in a timely and professional manner. He made excellent suggestions along the way, that made our house even better than originally designed. He was always easy to reach and quick to get back to us. He takes personal pride, and will not be satisfied unless you are. I would give him more stars, if I could.

We are so pleased with our new 3 car, climate controlled garage built by ALC Contractors. We had never contracted for a ground up project like this in the past. What I found was most helpful was that Andy would listen and remember the things that were important to us. If we asked his opinion on a product or choice we had to make, he was kind enough to offer information based on his experience. His ALC team was great. They were punctual, pleasant, thorough and always cleaned up well. We were pleased with the sub contractors that Andy used. They worked diligently and were skilled at their jobs. Andy would show up each day any workers were on site. I felt like he really cared about the job and that the job was completed at a high level. He never settled for something being ok, but insisted it be completed at 100%. While they were working on the garage, I mentioned concerns I had about a porch roof leak along the side of the house. He took the project on, repaired the damage and placed the flashing that another local contractor, Brother's Roofing, had never placed originally. We were so pleased with ALC Contractors that we would definitely hire them again and recommend them to family and friends.

ALC recently did a 4 week renovation for us that exceeded our expectations. From our very first meeting with the owner, Andrew, to the last day of cleanup, we were completely satisfied with the expertise of Andrew and his crew and their attention to detail . We would also include his subcontractors in that remark. Zero items on the punch list. His estimates were fair and there was never any back and forth about the cost of any particular item. They shepherded us through the selection process for all of our fixtures in a way that made us feel included. At the end, he came in right on budget and within the timeline we had established. ALC was neat, courteous and professional in everything they did. I would recommend ALC to anyone looking to renovate their home or build from scratch. They were a pleasure to work with and eventually felt like family.

Andrew and ALC basically gutted my 1980's house, modernized it, and made it feel like a newly built home. Andrew was my general contractor and advisor throughout a kitchen renovation, bathroom updating, mudroom addition, complete basement redesign and renovation, upgrading to wooden floors, addition of walk-in closet, refacing fireplace, upgrading from wooden to rod-iron railings, expansion of family room with addition of wet bar and custom cabinetry. There was not a room in the house that was left unchanged. He blew out walls, changed doorway entrances, and moved a staircase all to my specifications. He worked hand in hand with my architectural designer and handled all necessary permits through Howard County. His head carpenter is top notch and easy to work with. I gave him hand drawings and pictures of my ideas and he turned them into reality. I am very pleased with all the work they did and would recommend him to anyone.

Andrew and his team were great to work with. We needed to replace our front door to address some issues that we were having. We selected the door that we wanted from a Manufacturers website and the local distributor recommended ALC contractors. Andrew responded immediately when I contacted him and provided an estimate quickly. He then made sure that everything was correct on our order before placing it. When the door arrived his crew arrived on time and ready to work, they did a fantastic job with the installation. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was impeccable. Once they removed the old door, they were immediately able to identify an installation issue with the previous door that was causing the water infiltration issue and they corrected it as they installed the new door. When there was an issue with a missing part, they contacted the distributor, got the part delivered later the same day and returned the next day to correct the issue. When they were done, they cleaned everything up, including the front yard and sidewalks and made sure that everything was exactly as I expected. I would not hesitate to use ALC Contractors again.

Wow! My kitchen and first floor remodel came out better than I could have imagined. The quality materials, attention to detail and innovative ideas made my house a show piece. The demo and install was performed quickly so I had very little down time and if they said they would do something, it was done. They were also clean and very respectful of my home. Superior product at a reasonable price. I would recommend and plan on using them in the future.
