Hemphill Associates started by offering renovation services to Monmouth County residents in 1977. Today we still work on many renovation projects but also have specialized in custom homes for New Jersey residents. Our philosophy is to provide honest and accurate assessments of your building blueprints and how to make those plans a reality. The fact that we remain friends with our custom home clients is a testimony to our high standard for integrity, clarity and professionalism. Before you make a decision on who will build your home, give us a call to discuss your project. We can also provide you with a list of references to call for projects we have completed recently in New Jersey. Hemphill Associates can also be your General Contractor for specialized construction projects or projects that you would like to co-manage. Call us to discuss your construction needs.

I engaged Hemphill for a basement remodel and to remove walls and add a coffered ceiling on main floor. Tom and team were easy to work with, highly professional, and delivered the project on time, exceeding my our overall exceptions. The crew was clean, flexible and very considerate. Several obstacles were faced along the way due to the age of the home and I requested certain changes to plan as well - with each, Tom was patient, thorough and transparent on risks and costs. I would highly recommend Hemphill and would certainly use again for my next project.

Our project was a family home from the late 1800s which presented many surprises and challenges. To bring it into the 21st Century, while maintaining the integrity and architectural features, required someone with an understanding of the scope of our project. Joe Hemphill met the challenge. Joe and his men were experienced, professional, honest, co-operative, skilled and pleasure to work with. They continue to be responsive, if needed. At the completion of the work we have a beautiful, comfortable home. It was educational and fun thanks to Joe and his team.

After interviewing several contractors for my renovation, I chose Hemphill Associates because of their competitive price and wonderful reputation. They completed my project on time, despite one of the worst winters ever! Joe, Tom and their workmen were great to work with and always available and helpful. I would highly recommend them!

Joe, Tom and their team were a pleasure to work with. Our project was completed on time and within budget. There were significant changes to the layout and finishes; the workmanship was of the highest quality and all was completed to the architects specifications.

Joe and Tom did a fantastic job for me!! Their expertise qualifies them as "masters" in the planning and construction business. There were times when I needed advice and they rendered it in a kind and professional manner--many times with some good laughs! Besides their demeanor all the people they sub contracted were extremely knowledgeable and courteous. I truly enjoyed every person that came to my condo! Thank you again, Joe and Tom. You provided me with the best memories during a somewhat difficult time.

Hemphill and Associates built our house in 2000. At first I thought writing a review would not be usefully to others, since the construction occurred almost 17 years ago. But then I thought, what better review is there but from a person that lived in the house for that many years. The overall "construction" experience was excellent. Joe Hemphill as well as his employees and subcontractors were professional, experienced, and most importantly cared about you and your house. Did they cost a little more, yes, but the house was completed on time and after 17 years, it is still a great house with no problems.

Joe and Tom turned my old barn into a beautiful workspace. Their ability to transform a 19th century pile into a modern and functional building, while incorporating the old barn wood and horse barn door, was a complete success. We were amazed at the speedy work and ultimate outcome! The best part was the easy rapport!
