I bought a 1926, 1300 SF home in 2004. It was important to keep the integrity and bones of the home yet transition it into a calm and open loft feel so I could add mid century elements. I wanted more living space both inside and outside as well as a separate home office in the detached garage. I had specific ideas what I wanted from design to details. Bo Powell with EP Architecture & Design was able to bring my vision to reality and had excellent vendors to achieve the look I wanted. His years of experience helped communicate to contractors unfamiliar with this "look" since most in Laguna were cottage style. I continue to this day 2019 to have tremendous compliments on my home and give major credit to my "creator" Bo Powell. In fact, it was done so well my home was featured in the OC Register Feb 2016 supplement about "Big Ideas for Small Spaces" . Bo kept on budget and deadlines, advised me if something was unrealistic, and checked in daily at the home to oversee the work. Bo was frank and professional. And, most importantly, he truly cared I was going to get the home of my dreams.

I am a structural engineer, and I have worked with EP Architecture over the years on several projects, most recently a new custom residence in Seal Beach. Dave Everson and Bo Powell are very professional and a pleasure to work with. They make my job easier with their well thought out designs and attention to detail. I first worked with Bo Powell and Dave Everson three years ago on a beautiful custom home in Long Beach that they had designed. I was immediately impressed by their organization, professionalism and commitment to the project. Our church voted to remodel a significant portion of our facilities leading to the celebration of our 100th anniversary as a church in our community. Dave Everson worked with us from the very earliest design stages through 2 phases of construction (kitchen, office and bathroom space then fellowship hall space) that covered a period of 5 years. Dave was excellent in guiding a diverse group of people to consensus on layout, design, materials, costs, and selection of the best general contractor to work with. Not only is he highly skilled as an architect but he showed great patience, sensitivity and flexibility. We are thrilled with the results.

Dave Everson designed a gorgeous remodel of my kitchen & family room as well as a spectacular addition over my garage which included a Juliet balcony, gabled copper roof over the bathroom & a roof garden. He listened to me & and expanded my vision with his creative eye. He was a delight to work with - conscientious, patient, & talented.

As a general contractor we have worked with many architects. We worked with Dave and Bo on a large project and I was impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. They were able to take the clients wants and put them into a very complete and detailed set of plans. This helped to obtain accurate bids for our client and the time spent up front kept the project moving. Changes that were made were quickly addressed to keep us on schedule. Nothing but good things to say about both of them. Wished more were like them.

Dave Everson designed the remodel of our fellowship hall at the church and followed through from the very beginning to the very end. He hired him and his partners to help us imagine how to remodel the home we own. They are very professional, prompt, and work with your ideas and adding to them.
