Founded in 2001 by Aubrey Smiga, Domus Ex Arte, LLC is a full service interior design firm specializing in both residential and commercial projects. With a design platform that encompasses architecture, interiors and custom furniture and fixtures, Domus Ex Arte is dedicated to realizing the vision implicit in its name; dwellings according to the principles of art. Aubrey Smiga, former Director of Architecture firm Marc-Michaels Interior Design (Architectural Digest Top 100). Through referral, Domus Ex Arte has evolved from startup to a thriving studio dedicated to expression of the client vision in timeless form. Recent residential projects include oceanfront properties in Corona Del Mar, Palm Desert, Chicago, Naples Bay, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Hamptons, New York. Styles include contemporary, eclectic transitional and time honored traditional. Commercial projects include restaurants, retail, corporate offices and prominent public spaces.

Our architectural firm has been fortunate to collaborate on numerous projects with Aubrey Smiga over the past 10 years. She is an incredibly talented designer with a wide range of experience and expertise working with traditional, contemporary or transitional styles of architecture. She is incredibly responsive and adaptive to her clients' needs and works directly with her clients' contractor(s) and architect to ensure the highest quality design on every project she takes on. She is a delight to work with and will truly make the design of your home an exciting experience with an outstanding final result.

Aubrey Smiga is an amazingly talented and creative interior designer that we, as an architectural firm, have been working with over the past few years. We have collaborated on a series of projects, from period Georgian, Stone Manor house, Cape Cod, to soft contemporary architectural styles. No matter what the architectural genre, this firm executes the interior decor and appointments in a professional and aesthetically superb manner for an always stunning and complimentary result. My husband and I have had the privilege to work with Aubrey Smiga, owner and principal at Domus Ex Arte on multiple occasions. We first worked with the firm to assist us in a small remodel and to recover a few existing pieces in our home 10 years ago. When we decided to build a custom home in the Palm Desert area eight years ago, we brought Aubrey in to assist with the architectural drawings, and interior design work. Together we created a new home from top to bottom which we continue to enjoy with family and friends. Most recently, Domus Ex Arte was a key member of our team when we demolished our existing home and created a new home in Newport Beach. Aubrey's skills as a designer include; architectural knowledge, the ability to draw elements, to scale in the field, which can actually be constructed, attention to detail, vast knowledge of design and a true collaborative spirit .
