This builder can't hit deadlines or budgets. Worst of all is the quality. I've seen track homes with better quality workmanship than our 4 million dollar home. Our house is falling apart and unsellable just 5 years after Alan built it.

Alan Hoffmann helped design and then built and landscaped our single family home in Little Forest Hills, Dallas, TX. The house is constructed of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and has many energy-efficient aspects, including among other things passive solar lighting, energy efficient windows, a radiant barrier and a tankless water heater. Alan was a pleasure to work with and remains a good friend to this day. He was always responsive, available, amenable to changes and patient with us. He took time to explain what was happening and sought our input and opinions before, during and even after the project was completed. He wanted us to get what we paid for, and we did. He is very knowledgeable about the construction process generally, but specifically about how to construct energy-efficient homes that look great. We get compliments on it all the time. Also, its energy consumption is even less than we had hoped for. We were under a lot of pressure (my wife was pregnant during construction and I was working a lot), and Alan made sure to keep us informed and calm during the construction process. I have always appreciated that.

When my wife and I decided to build our retirement home in Texas (outside Dallas area), we had decided to build with Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) as the construction method. Foremost, we wanted a house that was energy efficient and structurally sound. Research showed that when it came to ICF and Green certified construction in the Dallas area, the Alan Hoffmann Company was the de facto builder to consider. As an award winning builder, Alan Hoffmann probably has the most experience in ICF construction in the Dallas area. After meeting with Alan and finding him very personable, and seeing his product, the decision for my wife and I to make him our builder was very easy. In regards to our home construction, Alan built a quality product, on time and within budget. Alan also stands by his product after the construction phase. Bottom line, my wife and I love our house and were very satisfied with the construction process from start to finish.

Alan Hoffman has worked with us on several projects and they have all turned out to be remarkable. Alan combines an understanding of "Green" with an understanding of the need to work within a reasonable budget, which is very rare in my experience. We are delighted with our experience with the Alan Hoffmann Company. We wanted a cutting-edge, innovative design and energy efficient construction with the warmth of a traditional interior. Alan integrated our ideas into a beautiful design inspired by the Texas Hill Country. Our home reflects our commitment to sustainable living with casual elegance and artistic flair. Native landscaping complements our exterior and xeriscaping saves water. Altogether, our bills are half the cost of what we paid in our former home, which was half the size - so this has turned out to be a smart house, too! We are also proud that our residence earned the 2nd Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. Seven years since starting this project, we still love our home. Getting to be neighbors with Alan and his wife Pam has been a bonus. If we had it to do over again, we would make the same choice today!

I design/draft/plan custom homes and have had the pleasure of working with Alan Hoffmann on multiple projects. Alan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into each project that I have been a part of with him. Alan has a significant understanding for the importance of staying innovative in an industry where so many get stagnant and "stuck in their ways".
