Exciting without being at all overwrought or bombastic.” This shingle-style cottage in a small coastal village provides its owners a cherished spot on Maine’s rocky coastline. This home adapts to its immediate surroundings and responds to views, while keeping solar orientation in mind. Sited one block east of a home the owners had summered in for years, the new house conveys a commanding 180-degree view of the ocean and surrounding natural beauty, while providing the sense that the home had always been there. Marvin Ultimate Double Hung Windows stayed in line with the traditional character of the home, while also complementing the custom French doors in the rear. The specification of Marvin Window products provided confidence in the prevalent use of traditional double-hung windows on this highly exposed site. The ultimate clad double-hung windows were a perfect fit for the shingle-style character of the home. Marvin also built custom French doors that were a great fit with adjacent double-hung units. Kitchen was a renovation of a 70's white plastic laminate kitchen. We gutted the room to allow for the taste of our clients to shine with updated materials. The cabinetry is custom from our own cabinetry line. The counter tops and backsplash are handpainted custom designed tiles made in France. The floors are wood beams cut short side and laid to show the grain. We also created a cabinetry nook made of stone to house a display area and server. We used the existing skylights, but to bring it all together we installed reclaimed wood clapboards on the ceiling and reclaimed wood timbers to create some sense of architecture. A stunning Victorian property in Wanstead, London with high ceilings and a dining/living area is the recent project to be added to our portfolio. It’s the perfect example of classical design and craftsmanship effortlessly blended together to match the heritage of the Victorian-style property. The beautiful HMK Classic In-Frame Shaker has really brought this room to life with the added cock beaded front frame and recessed plinths. The colours are yellow and brown and the appliances are Neff. We also added a drinks cabinet too and a walk-in pantry in an adjacent room.

This 1894 Victorian brick home in Historic Bethlehem, Pa., had elements of the original kitchen — plus the challenge of designing within a 200 sq. ft. space with four doorways and two extra tall windows. Using the existing doors as inspiration, designer Dan Lenner created a custom door and an efficient workspace for the chef owner without losing a door or window. Custom Classic Cabintery Custom cabinetry in Cherry with grooved door style to match existing 1894 doors. The small space and low windows meant fewer base cabinets. Dan maintained the traffic flow and arranges an efficient work triangle by creating a peninsula. The range replaced an existing cabinet. Dan stepped back the cabinet next to the window to avoid blocking it, and built a seat with storage underneath under the second window. The refrigerator fit neatly between the two windows. He extended the countertop for casual dining for three. Before remodeling, the alcove window was partially covered. The new design includes stepped back cabinetry to expose the window, and added space for appliances, rollouts and a lazy susan for extra storage. Appliances Thermidor range, refrigerator, hood and dishwasher. GE microwave. Countertop & Backsplash Countertops are “Dreamy Marfil” Caesarstone. Tile is 12” x 12” Stonefire from H. Winter.
