The owners envisioned a contemporary living space, but retained the historic details in certain rooms. This entryway has refinished original detailing with modern lighting and furniture that tie into the more modern parts of the home.

We updated this century-old iconic Edwardian San Francisco home to meet the homeowners' modern-day requirements while still retaining the original charm and architecture. The color palette was earthy and warm to play nicely with the warm wood tones found in the original wood floors, trim, doors and casework.

Take a look at this two-story historical design that is both unique and welcoming. With a grand front porch that creates a focal point for the house, the bold colors help bring out the liveliness of the property.

The entryway to this old wooden house says welcome. A rich green wainscoting subtly shows off anaglypta wall coverings. Antique pine wood flooring was installed throughout. The stained glass pendant light was lovingly restored and rehung. New doors by Upstate door were installed in the interior and a mid-century door chime loosens up the space.

Gallery Wall - During the Victorian era there was an obsession with the natural world. Travel became accessible and Victorian's could visit exotic locations and observe rare specimens of floral and fauna. They were creating detailed sketches and collecting actual specimens of plants, birds, insects, seashells, and fossils. The sketches would be framed and specimens would be showcased in a shadowbox or glass dome. These treasures were displayed as decorative art in the Victorian home. Our gallery wall is an update of those traditional collections. Reproduction botanical prints, decorative plates and framed photographs focus on close up views of birds, bees and butterflies.
