This wooden, curved stairwell with custom metal balusters is the perfect place to house the baby grand piano. The custom area rug under the piano is the perfect touch.

Special care was taken by Century Stair Company to build the architect's and owner's vision of a craftsman style three-level staircase in a bright and airy floor plan with soaring 19'curved/cathedral ceilings and exposed beams. The stairs furnished the rustic living space with warm oak rails and modern vertical black/satin balusters. Century built a freestanding stair and landing between the second and third level to adapt and to maintain the home's livability and comfort. This home’s focal point is its gorgeous three-story center staircase. The staircase features continuous custom-made raised panel wainscoting on the walls throughout each of the three stories. Consisting of red oak hardwood flooring, the staircase has an oak banister painted posts. The outside tread features a scallop detail. This light and airy home in Chadds Ford, PA, was a custom home renovation for long-time clients that included the installation of red oak hardwood floors, the master bedroom, master bathroom, two powder rooms, living room, dining room, study, foyer and staircase. remodel included the removal of an existing deck, replacing it with a beautiful flagstone patio. Each of these spaces feature custom, architectural millwork and custom built-in cabinetry or shelving. A special showcase piece is the continuous, millwork throughout the 3-story staircase. The millwork in this entry foyer, which warms and enriches the entire space, is spectacular yet subtle with architecturally interesting shadow boxes, crown molding, and base molding. The double doors and sidelights, along with lattice-trimmed transoms and high windows, allow natural illumination to brighten both the first and second floors. Upstairs, in what may be the X-factor for this home, the men’s clubroom is revealed. Conceived as the ultimate “man cave” game room, this level is complete with a pub-style bar, a pool table, three televisions, and access to a gorgeous sun deck. Furnishings remain true to its masculine theme with fully tufted, Thom Filicia, crocodile leather couches, a chunky, cocktail table of reclaimed timbers, and an oversized, ribbed rug in slate blue silk.

Three floating-curved flights play a spectacular effect in this recently built home; soft wooden oak treads and oak rails blend beautifully with the hardwood flooring, while its balustrade is an architectural decorative confection of black wrought-iron in clean geometrical patterns. This grand 2 story open foyer has an eye catching curved staircase with a patterned carpet runner, dark treads and dark stained handrail. A round center hall walnut table graces the space and is visually balanced by the orb "globe" style hanging pendant fixture above it. The patterned oval rug plays homage to the coffered ceiling above and aids in bringing ones eye up to this beautifully designed space. The living room with it's comfortable yet elegant furnishings and curved wall sconces with petite shades are also seen from the center hall. Off of the living room one can see a glimpse of the hallway's "curved" coffered ceiling, the console table with globe and wooden sculptures. The contemporary painting above the console's table brings everything together culminating into an elegant and welcoming environment.
