This minimalistic living room features a modern built-in fireplace with a unique tile design. A built-in shelving unit sits on the side of the fireplace. An L-shaped brown twill sectional couch sits in the center of the space and is cushioned with a leather upholstered coffee table.

here we needed to handle two focal points as the homeowners did not want the tv over the fireplace. the fireplace surround design needed to consider the beautiful beams and the small windows on the sides it was decided to create a strong center and let everything around it enhance the ambiance . the wall unit was designed around the tv and was painted as the wall color with walnut movable dividers to complete the other walls rather than competing with them

A busy family of four wanted to update the great room in their modern farmhouse and renovate their kitchen. The parents couldn’t keep an eye on their two young girls while cooking and found that the island was too long and narrow - blocking their kitchen walkway. Surrounded by dated carpeting, colors, tile, and materials, they wanted to create a more uniform, open feel throughout their home with new flooring, paint colors, lighting, and furnishings. The end goal was to make the living and dining spaces brighter, warmer, and more welcoming but also kid-friendly! To create the great room and modern farmhouse kitchen of their dreams, we removed their bar and opened up a wall to create direct access from the garage to the great room, flooding the area with natural light. We moved the kitchen island orientation, allowing the parents to see their kids in the great room while cooking up a storm, and changed the refrigerator position to create an efficient work triangle between the sink and cooktop. This new floor plan and the new island allowed the family to finally move freely around the kitchen. We also transformed their living space with a chic new dining set, neutral living room furniture, and modern rustic touches here and there. A chandelier added a dramatic touch and more light in the great room, while crackled glass pendants hung over the kitchen sink to create warmth. Finally, we renovated their outdated fireplace with beautiful herringbone ceramic tile and installed a hardwood floor in their entryway using a herringbone pattern for added visual interest.

Custom designed light colored sofas (ALTA Performance Fabrics) sit parallel to each other. In the middle a trio of unique, custom nesting tables with gold frames and embossed leather tops al sit upon a beautiful wool carpet with geometry that complements the accent pillow fabrics and the fireplace tile surround which was new to the space. The contemporary artwork in a textured high gloss fame hung above the fireplace mantel creates a WOW focal point in the room. Carefully curated accessories and accent lamps and ceiling hung fixtures create a design story unique to the client.

We eliminated the red brick fireplace surround and opted for a a marble sheet mosaic. The custom designed mantle is large scale to stand up to the size of the room. It is a great way to change out art and collectibles.

This beautiful home is used regularly by our Calgary clients during the weekends in the resort town of Fernie, B.C. While the floor plan offered ample space to entertain and relax, the finishes needed updating desperately. The original kitchen felt too small for the space which features stunning vaults and timber frame beams. With a complete overhaul, the newly redesigned space now gives justice to the impressive architecture. Our client fell in love with this penny round glossy mosaic tile and knew they wanted to build their great room around it as their fireplace surround. The strong wood mantel we designed reflects the ceiling beams which we wrapped in light oak to update the existing and dated dark wood. Dark wood cabinets and pillars were removed to open the kitchen to the great room.

All of the common spaces in this home are in an open-concept layout, including a home office which offers sliding barn doors for privacy.
