Relocating to Portland, Oregon from California, this young family immediately hired Amy to redesign their newly purchased home to better fit their needs. The project included updating the kitchen, hall bath, and adding an en suite to their master bedroom. Removing a wall between the kitchen and dining allowed for additional counter space and storage along with improved traffic flow and increased natural light to the heart of the home. This galley style kitchen is focused on efficiency and functionality through custom cabinets with a pantry boasting drawer storage topped with quartz slab for durability, pull-out storage accessories throughout, deep drawers, and a quartz topped coffee bar/ buffet facing the dining area. The master bath and hall bath were born out of a single bath and a closet. While modest in size, the bathrooms are filled with functionality and colorful design elements. Durable hex shaped porcelain tiles compliment the blue vanities topped with white quartz countertops. The shower and tub are both tiled in handmade ceramic tiles, bringing much needed texture and movement of light to the space. The hall bath is outfitted with a toe-kick pull-out step for the family’s youngest member!

What were you looking for in your remodel? We were looking to completely redo the space. We knew we needed a new layout to accommodate the need for more storage, but also to update the extremely outdated cabinets, flooring, etc. to bring it out of 1960 and into 2020. 2. What do you love most about your remodel? I obviously love that everything is brand new. My favorite physical feature is definitely the new backsplash and countertops that we chose! I also have never had soft close drawers so those are spectacular! 3. What was your main concern when deciding on a remodeling company? We really just didn’t want it to take a long time! We were at home during the whole thing because of the pandemic, so it was not realistic to live without a kitchen for months. 4. What made you choose O’Hanlon Kitchens? Would you recommend O’Hanlon Kitchens? Tracy was a great designer, and we ultimately went with O’Hanlon because she discovered some details about the kitchen and it’s functional space that others overlooked and even we didn’t notice. In this kitchen remodel, Waypoint LivingSpaces 410S – Painted Linen cabinetry was installed. On the countertop is Eternia Warrington Quartz with a roundover edge and a Blanco composite sink in truffle with Moen Arbor pulldown faucet. Artigiano -Italian Alps 3x12 glazed subway tile and Bliss glass and stone Iceland Mosaics tile was installed on the backsplash. On the floor is CTI Chateau 12x24” stone tile.

This was a full-gut kitchen renovation that included removing a load bearing wall to expand into an adjacent room.
