When Amy and Brandon, hip 30 year old attorneys decided to look for a home with better outdoor living space, closer to restaurants and night spots, their search landed them on a house with the perfect outdoor oasis. Unfortunately, it came with an interior that was a mish mash of 50’s, 60’s and 70’s design. Having already taken on a DIY remodel on their own, they weren’t interested in going through the stress and frustration of one again. They were resolute on hiring an expert designer and contractor to renovate their new home. The completed renovation features sleek black cabinetry, rich ebony floors, bold geometric tile in the bath, gold hardware and lighting that together, create a fresh and modern take on traditional style. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry packs this modest sized kitchen with more cabinetry & features than some kitchens twice it’s size, including two spacious islands. Choosing not to use upper cabinets on one wall was a design choice that allowed us to feature an expanse of pure white quartz as the backdrop for the kitchens curvy hood and spikey gold sconces. A mix of high end furniture, finishes and lighting all came together to create just the right mix to lend a 21st century vibe to this quaint traditional home.

Built in 1969, this recently renovated home with a gracious entryway leads to a stunning gourmet kitchen that spotlights a Dacor downdraft stove top and wall oven, Kitchen Aid refrigerator and dishwasher, granite countertops, John Boos Butcher block island, as well as a brick pizza oven. Hardwood floors blend beautifully into Porcelanosa stone tiles to highlight these bright and comfortable spaces. Perfect for entertaining, the living space flows graciously from one room to another. The master bedroom suite is one you will never want to leave! High ceilings, beams, a brand new fabulous bathroom with Hudson Reed fixtures, Hansgrohe faucets and a full wall of glass leading to a brand new deck. Our concept for this kitchen was to create a highly functional and classically modern kitchen environment that would honor the home's traditional roots at the same time incorporating fresh design elements that exude a more youthful modern look - an aesthetic that captures the true essence of the young homeowners' personalities. It was extremely important to maximize every square inch of space for our clients. We increased the opening between the kitchen and hallway by several feet allowing us to include a small 2'x4' "mobile island" into the long and narrow kitchen space. Adding casters to this piece allows the homeowners to move it anywhere in the kitchen. It can function as an island, buffet or bar cart! Proof that small and compact can make a big impact.
