Angie Hebst - photographer The existing kitchen was updated by adding trim moulding and painting existing cabinetry a neutral gray. The flooring was replaced and backsplash was updated to give this kitchen a fresh look while keeping the character of the home.

The “Industrial shaker” – notice the bare red Cheshire brick feature wall – A classic shaker style kitchen in modern deep grey with grey slate floor, and hardwearing white quartz worktops around the cooking area and a rich luxurious solid oak island worktop – see how the furniture perfectly sits underneath the oak beam to the ceiling – a classic and instant hallmark of bespoke manufacture and installation - notice the modern way of cooking with cutting-edge multi-function ovens set at eye level for ease of use, the wide seamless induction hob set in a break-fronted worktop run for deeper worksurface where its needed most, and “WOW” glass extractor hood, framed by classic glazed wall units for glasses and cups/plates. Note the bifold dresser hiding the small appliances (Mixer/blender/toaster) merging into the tall larder and huge side by side fridge and freezer. Again the sink is on the island but inset into the beautiful solid oak oiled worktop. With contemporary chrome rinse monobloc tap. The island feature side has a wine cooler, and a breakfast bar conveniently located to grab that next glass of wine!. Simple chrome cup and ball handles finish off that industrial modern look. BELLA ANIMA Our Clients wanted space for entertainment as well as congregating for family casual meals. We were looking at a space that had several choppy rooms and one dramatic staircase that was hidden behind a very tight wall. The challenge was to incorporate the curving staircase with the design so that it looked like it was part of the open concept living area. In order to make use of the space we had to use a beam to open up the area. To incorporate the circular staircase, we made a semi circle dining area and we brought the countertop down to a dining height and changed the material type to a wood. We were so pleased to be able to give them the eclectic look that they loved, a mix of several materials, and a working area that exceeded their expectations.

This 1960's kitchen condo had a dated floorplan. It was cramped, tiny and separated from the main living/dining area. To create a space more suitable for entertaining, all three walls were removed. The old bar area was incorporated into the new footprint. Brick veneer was used as a kitchen backsplash, installed up to the ceiling and around the side. It gives the illusion that the brick was always there, lurking behind the wall. To hide the electrical components, we added soffits and posts. This helped define the kitchen area. A knee wall in front of the island hides more electrical and adds counter depth. The open space between the counters was extended from 36 inches to 50, making it comfortable for multiple chefs.
