This project was featured in Midwest Home magazine as the winner of ASID Life in Color. The addition of a kitchen with custom shaker-style cabinetry and a large shiplap island is perfect for entertaining and hosting events for family and friends. Quartz counters that mimic the look of marble were chosen for their durability and ease of maintenance. Open shelving with brass sconces above the sink create a focal point for the large open space. Putting a modern spin on the traditional nautical/coastal theme was a goal. We took the quintessential palette of navy and white and added pops of green, stylish patterns, and unexpected artwork to create a fresh bright space. Grasscloth on the back of the built in bookshelves and console table along with rattan and the bentwood side table add warm texture. Finishes and furnishings were selected with a practicality to fit their lifestyle and the connection to the outdoors. A large sectional along with the custom cocktail table in the living room area provide ample room for game night or a quiet evening watching movies with the kids. Our new clients lived in a charming Spanish-style house in the historic Larchmont area of Los Angeles. Their kitchen, which was obviously added later, was devoid of style and desperately needed a makeover. While they wanted the latest in appliances they did want their new kitchen to go with the style of their house. The en trend choices of patterned floor tile and blue cabinets were the catalysts for pulling the whole look together.

For this kitchen remodel we tiled the floor with a woodgrain "Shaw Fossil Calcite" ceramic tile and the backsplashes with "Slate Supremo Winter" subway tile. The cabinets, like all of our cabinets, are custom 100% hardwood (we never use any M.D.F. or particle board) painted with a 5-step process, and mounted with european hidden-hinges for the doors and full-extension, pin bearing, heavy duty rails for the drawers. In addition to the normal drawers and cabinets (which all have adjustable shelving), these cabinets include a Lazy Susan, a spice pull-out, and two large pot-and-pan drawers that can hold approx. 40lbs. The countertops are Brazilian Sterling Granite with an undermount composite sink. The island doubles as a bar as we installed an extra 10" of granite, and is lit by 1930's vintage-styled hanging lights. We finished this kitchen with a suite of brand new black-stainless LG appliances.

Dual toned checkered floor, pops of blue tile, and yellow accent lighting bring a bright harmony to this kitchen with a butcher block free standing island, clean white cabinetry and quartz countertops.

Re configuring the window and removing a wall in this kitchen opened up the space to the rest of the living area and allowed so much light to flow in! The beautiful grey cabinets add the perfect amount of color, allowing the quart countertops and brass hardware to pop! Such a transformation!

A mid-sized transitional open-concept house that impresses with its warm, neutral color palette combined with splashes of purple, green, and blue hues. An eat-in kitchen given visual boundaries and elegant materials serves as a welcome replacement for a classic dining room with a round, wooden table paired with sage green wooden and upholstered dining chairs, and large, glass centerpieces, and a chandelier. The kitchen is clean and elegant with shaker cabinets, pendant lighting, a large island, and light-colored granite countertops to match the light-colored flooring. Painted bottom cabinets in Sherwin Williams "Dovetail" uppers painted in SW's "White Flour". Shelves, Island, Wood Wall, and Ceiling all fabricated by Shawn Crone. All work was designed, executed, and installed by him!

Because his home was built in 1938, it was important to Dave to stay true to the architecture of that era while still incorporating the modern feel of the 21st century. He chose a clean subway tile backsplash, dark granite counter tops, and wood accents to match the custom trim he stained. The shaker-style cabinets he built also contribute to a classic feel. The pantry closet was removed and a new cooking zone was added. The microwave is located off the counter and out of the way allowing room for the clients air fryer and toaster oven. Large drawers allow for more storage.
