Cada vez más las cocinas son puntos de encuentro en una vivienda, ya no solo se usan para cocinar si no que nos reunimos con nuestros amigos para tomarnos una copa de vino, nos sentamos para trabajar, los niños hacen sus deberes...por lo que su agenda de necesidades cada vez aumenta teniendo que tener en cuenta muchos más factores. . Para esta cocina hemos diseñado una espectacular encimera que nos permite tener espacio para trabajar, leer, cocinar...el color verde del porcelanico Emerald de @porcelanosa ha creado un espacio elegante, atráctivo y contemporáneo, no nos puede gustar más su acabado. No nos podemos olvidar de las molduras de Orac Decor que siempre nos ayudan tanto a definir los espacios y a crear los detalles, en este caso enmarcando cada uno de los cajones ocultos de la cocina.

We anchored the kitchen with a large custom island that features a gorgeous single hand-hammered copper sink, bronze faucets and two dish washers. Along the wall is a French culinary handmade La Cornue stove and custom-built range hood that creates a stunning focal point. It’s surrounded by classic white stacked cabinetry—the left- and right-side cabinets flush with the countertops. The top row of cabinets is designed with glass-paneled doors and in-cabinet lighting perfect for highlighting kitchen collectibles. A convenient way to save valuable counter space, and help provide a clean, clutter-free look for the kitchen, we installed an appliance garage with plenty of storage. The large, walk-in pantry was designed with convenient roll out shelves. The kitchen countertops were topped with Taj Mahal quartzite, which were polished in a leathered finish to create the rustic feel our clients were looking for. Two large refrigerator/freezer combo units were designed into the space to provide plenty of food storage, both fresh and frozen. A convenient “Command Center” was added to one end of the refrigerator wall, concealed behind the cabinet doors, to store mail, a kid’s activity calendar, school papers, a bulletin board, etc. The base cabinet between the kitchen and great room was designed with plenty of drawers and a high-power docking station for charging multiple devices, including tablets, phones, reading devices, and headsets.

In the process of renovating this house for a multi-generational family, we restored the original Shingle Style façade with a flared lower edge that covers window bays and added a brick cladding to the lower story. On the interior, we introduced a continuous stairway that runs from the first to the fourth floors. The stairs surround a steel and glass elevator that is centered below a skylight and invites natural light down to each level. The home’s traditionally proportioned formal rooms flow naturally into more contemporary adjacent spaces that are unified through consistency of materials and trim details.

Kitchen, hearth room, breakfast room view of addition/remodel project - 2 story addition to the existing home, and remodel of the existing family room & kitchen. Addition consists of first floor light-filled family room with beamed ceiling, and second floor master suite addition/remodel that includes His & Hers walk-in closets, coffee bar, and laundry. Existing kitchen & family room were remodeled to include bar, butler pantry, large kitchen with island, hearth room, breakfast room, walk-in china closet, mudroom, and pool bath.
