The layout of the new kitchen has added more space for movement around the kitchen and the added cabinetry was super beneficial for extra storage. With a larger island and sitting area, quick meals and family gatherings are possible.

This traditional, clean, and trendy New York City kitchen, designed by Bilotta’s Tabitha Tepe, is situated in a loft in lower Manhattan. The kitchen, with touches of both silver and gold, features Bilotta Collection Cabinetry in a frameless full overlay door with step profile. The perimeter is painted in a soft gray color with glass fronts on the wall cabinets and the island is walnut with a stain. The high ceilings, tall windows, and open design make it a bright and airy space, not stuffy as some NYC apartments can be. The ceiling is painted white but still has the raw element of the exposed pipes. Touches of gold are scattered throughout the space including the hardware by Hafele and inside the pendant shades hanging above the island by Linden Rose & Co. The stainless steel hood and range, by Miele are surrounded by Artistic Tile’s Jazz Glass mosaic backsplash in gray and white. The Miele dishwasher and Sub-Zero refrigerator are paneled to keep the clean feel. Countertops are Imperial Danby marble by Romstone. And last but not least the entire wall running parallel to the island, is in white brick. Instead of covering it up the client decided to keep it in place and mount shelves where they added some earthy accessories like plants and olive wood cutting boards to complete this loft kitchen. We opened up the wall to create an open space to the great room. It was tricky because all of the support and to upstairs bathrooms were in the columns. We skinned the wall to the pantry in the corner to look like cabinetry and flow together. We put flooring up on the ceiling where the hood comes out of to keep it more casual.

When it came to designing my own kitchen it was a real challenge. It's hard to be objective about your own space. And I wanted a little bit of everything! I settled on colors that were calm and soothing, creamy off white cabinetry, typhoon green granite counters, glass tile backsplash and emtek crystal hardware. The Subzero and Bosch Dishwasher received custom panels. This kitchen is in Full Overlay styling with a simple flat panel door. The decorative elements in the hood and island corbels and legs at the sink give it a little extra flair.

A panel ready beverage center was incorporated into this bar that is located right off the kitchen.

Like the musical Rhapsody in Blue, by George Gershwin, this kitchen is a culmination of classical design with some jazzy effects. The shaker styled, recessed panel cabinetry is juxtaposed between traditional white and up tempo blue. 3D Glass tiled backsplash catches the light from every direction. The walnut wood top snack bar section of the island is like a puzzle piece to the booth seating area directly opposite. Custom made metal panels in the island give the whole space an upscale vibe. But there is even more to this kitchen than meets the eye. A hidden walk-in pantry and a coffee bar live harmoniously behind the blue cabinetry.
