Here you can see the gas fireplace with stone surround. The wood mantle was stained to match the kitchen cabinetry, which created harmony between the two areas. To satisfy our clients' needs for an open floorplan, our designer pushed their furniture to the perimeter and we mounted their television above the fireplace. These changes created the uncluttered, traffic free living area our clients were seeking.

Our client's family room off the kitchen is smaller than the actual kitchen, and he was very unhappy with the lack of comfort. Our new leather sofa, with motorized recliners at each end, gave comfort and the style he'd missed. Adding a single sleek pale gold velvet chair in the bay window really opened up the space and gave way to the view. Tall gold/cream paisley panels on dark 2" wood rods highlights the 10 foot room height. A neutral rug, subtle fireplace wallpaper, mink ottomans and golden lamps finish off the space.

We painted the library's existing paneling in a vivid peacock blue, and used the client's existing art on the walls. A new sofa and coffee table is paired with the client's armchair and footrest, which we recovered. A white Australian sheepskin rug covers a tailored woven-wool carpet. Wool window treatments with Holland & Sherry fabric.

This family/hearth room is just off the magnificent kitchen and is home to an updated look of its own. New hardwood flooring, lighting and mantle and the background for the custom furniture and window treatments. The family now spends most of its time here. This Kansas City redesign began by staining the fireplace a darker color. The tile on the fireplace was changed to a neutral style and makes the space flow. The area over the television was filled with sheet rock in order to hang a flat screen TV. We carefully space planned the room and realized with just the right sized furniture we could accomplish the amount of seating she requested. A wool area rug was selected to set the tone for the room. The fabrics have long wear ability and a great look. We tied the room together with linen down filled pillows. Our clients LOVE their newly designed space. The walls were painted a neutral color that was carried throughout the first floor. That enabled our client to use the furnishing from her other home for the surrounding rooms and have it tie in together. With a few new pictures and accessories, the other rooms looked great! Our design studio in Overland Park enabled us to help our client select all her fabrics, tile, area rugs and new window treatments in the same place without having to run all over town. It's amazing how a 2-car garage can be transformed if well designed! Here, the garage is made into a guesthouse with one bedroom, living area, kitchenette, full bath, entry/mudroom and more. All rooms have a view of the lake beyond

The same shaker-style Grabill cabinetry was installed in the adjacent family room but stained in a rich dark tone to create variety in the home. Tall cabinets flank the grand fireplace allowing it to be the focal point in the room. Light-toned stacked ledger stone was installed around the fireplace surround to contrast the dark-tone cabinets. Open shelving was designed on each side to display the homeowner’s favorite belongings, while keeping this custom-made furniture piece from appearing to heavy and overbearing. A sense of balance is created through this symmetrical design of these built-ins, allowing for an overall striking and polished design.

A newly finished basement apartment in one of Portland’s gorgeous historic homes was a beautiful canvas for ATIID to create a warm, welcoming guest house. Area rugs provided rich texture, pattern and color inspiration for each room. Comfortable furnishings, cozy beds and thoughtful touches welcome guests for any length of stay. Our Signature Cocktail Table and Perfect Console and Cubes are showcased in the living room, and an extraordinary original work by Molly Cliff-Hilts pulls the warm color palette to the casual dining area. Custom window treatments offer texture and privacy. We provided every convenience for guests, from luxury layers of bedding and plenty of fluffy white towels to a kitchen stocked with the home chef’s every desire. Welcome home!
