Compact wine cellars are gorgeous and such a fantastic addition to any home. This glass front wine cellar / glass wine cellar in Solana Beach, San Diego, California, is a perfect example of turning that under-utilized closet or niche space. Located directly off of the dining room, this modern wine cellar blends style and utility, incorporating features such as triple deep wine racking with glass, stone, wood, and stainless steel. A contemporary look melding perfectly with this more traditional style home. Design Build team at Vintage Cellars was also commissioned to create a unique and stylish wooden backing, to ensure that the metal wine pegs really popped. Custom walnut stain was placed on Alder wood paneling, custom fit with metal wine rack pegs from floor to ceiling. We worked directly with Noe Design Co to create a one of a kind entrance into this cellar. The highest quality stainless steel framing and double pane thermally insulated glass were placed on the front wall to not only maintain a beautiful look, but to also ensure that this wine room kept a perfect 55 degree temperature with constant relative humidity. Wine Cellar Builder Vintage Cellars are true pros when it comes to proper wine storage. Long term wine storage was a must for this client. This small wine cellar / glass wine cellar / small wine room has a ducted cooling system - utilizing a Wine Guardian placed into the ceiling. This wine closet is unassuming from the outside, but it is anything but boring within! This homeowner wanted to display his best bottles in a big way. The wine cellar builders / design build team at Vintage Cellars worked closely with him to ensure that his vision became a reality. This custom wine cellar is so unassuming from the outside, you could almost miss it. A small windowed door lets you in, and once inside - the wine racks take you somewhere magical. Poplar with a dark custom stain was utilized to create the sleek and modern look, even though these wine racks are made of wood. White walls behind and a clean and natural wood floor make the wine racks really pop. Beginning at the top of the wine room, individual wine bottle storage sweeps across for bottles needing that extra aging time, not to be touched for years. Directly below sits multiple layers of space for high reveal angled display. Wine bottles are angled visibility as well as maintaining wet corks for proper storage. Mixed in here are coved trays for large format wine bottle display. These coved trays are designed and built for featuring large wine bottles horizontally. Having these adds to a unique and eye catching layout, keeping the wine cellar looking clean and interesting. Directly underneath lies another section for individual bottle storage, as well as room to store original wood cases. The cooling unit in this wine cellar / wine room / wine closet / custom wine room / custom wine cellar / custom wine closet / wine storage space is ducted in through the ceiling. This ensures that the wine room functions perfectly, but is also quiet and enjoyable to hang in should the need arise. Custom wine cellar design is an art. Our client requested a showpiece wine cellar for this showpiece island location…and we were happy to deliver it. This cellar has it all: French limestone accenting custom white oak wine racking and millwork, limestone arched niches with a bush-hammer finish, reclaimed oak cooperage, and a barrel ceiling, are among the finer details. Accessible through two separate entries from both wings of the home, take the spiral staircase or stroll down the hallway, which also provides ample bin and case storage, to enter this stunning wine cellar. A perfect gathering spot to take in a classic vintage after a day of taking in the panoramic oceanfront view outside.

This custom-designed ribbon mahogany wine room was fitted within a climate-controlled room. It was designed to hold standard, magnum, and specialty bottles in all formats, for a total of 2,800 bottles. Uniquely built specially configured elements allowed for wine bottles of all shapes and sizes to fit perfectly with the racks. One wall was created with a radius.
