This apartment had been vacant for five years before it was purchased, and it needed a complete renovation for the two people who purchased it - one of whom works from home. Built shortly after the WWII, the building has high ceilings and fairly generously proportioned rooms, but lacked sufficient closet space and was stripped of any architectural detail. We installed a floor to ceiling bookcase that ran the full length of the living room - 23'-0" which incorporates: a hidden bar, files, a pull out desk , and tv and stereo components. New baseboards, crown moulding, and a white oak floor stained dark walnut were also added along with the picture lights and many additional outlets. The two small chairs client's mother and were recovered in a Ralph Lauren herringbone fabric, the wing chair belonged to the other owner's grandparents and dates from the 1940s - it was recovered in linen and trimmed in a biege velvet. Extensive custom millwork can be seen throughout the entire home, but especially in the living room. Floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors with cremone bolts allow for an abundance of natural light and unobstructed water views.

The homeowner provided us an inspiration photo for this built in electric fireplace with shiplap, shelving and drawers. We brought the project to life with Fashion Cabinets white painted cabinets and shelves, MDF shiplap and a Dimplex Ignite fireplace.

This family living room is right off the main entrance to the home. Intricate molding on the ceiling makes the space feel cozy and brings in character. A beautiful tiled fireplace pulls the room together and big comfy couches and chairs invite you in.

This large great room has space for two full size sofas and two chairs. The stone fireplace is the focal point of the room, flanked by two upper windows and built ins. The coffered ceiling is a custom detail which plays nicely with the location and design of the fireplace. Homeowner needed a library for their extensive book collection. They also requested a window seat and motorized blind for a large window facing the backyard. This library, living and TV room needed space for a large television and ample storage space below the bookcases. Cabinets are Maple Raised Panel Painted White. The motorized roller shade is from Graber in Sheffield Meadow Light/Weaves.
