These custom cherry cabinets in a shaker style look sharp next to the white ceramic backsplash and ceiling. The island is offset with a blue gray paint to enhance the island as a focal point. With additional natural lighting from a new patio door (left of the stove) and overhead lighting, it's a cheerful place to do meal prep and entertain. The homeowners wanted the flexibiity to have seating on both sides of the idland on one end, so a pedestal post was added to allow for leg room when extra chairs were added.

We did a major remodel on this home providing a larger kitchen, updating the lighting layout, and making this kitchen more functional by adding this big beautiful island that we custom made. Then we fabricated and installed Spectrum tranquility quartz for the countertops, then we installed a Bedrosians glass mosaic for the backsplash. We also installed this Lvp flooring from surfaceart throughout the entire home. This flooring is wonderful because it has a nice texture.

Client Brief: To create a classic-modern design using Inframe Shaker cabinetry in a combination of rich, contrasting colours to provide definition to the Island and tall furniture. Inframe shaker cabinetry finished in Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone to the main kitchen L and Hague Blue to the Island and pantry and tall furniture. Cambria Luxury Series Quartz (3cm) Annicca Slab was fabricated and install for a Kitchen and bathroom countertops. Polished Under-mount sink cut out, 1/4 top round edge detail, grey glass tile install as well.

By raising the dropped ceilings, and removing a support post in the center of the entry, we transformed an uninspiring U-shaped kitchen with a peninsula into a bright and functional kitchen. The new island and high-end appliances featuring the Wolf range, 42" Subzero refrigerator, and the Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers make cooking and entertaining a breeze. The island is a main hub in the kitchen, housing the Wolf microwave drawer, the Scottsman ice maker and the beautiful hammered stainless steel prep sink adjacent from the refrigerator for quick rinsing. Special attention was given to the custom cabinetry to give this kitchen a timeless look. This New Hope, PA kitchen design is packed with customized storage solutions that create a stylish, organized, and efficient space. The perimeter kitchen cabinets are Koch Cabinetry in a white finish, while the Dura Supreme island cabinetry offers contrast in a dark wood finish. The cabinetry is complemented by Top Knobs hardware, gray ceramic tile backsplash, and an MSI Quartz countertop. Behind the cabinet doors sits ample storage including a lighted pantry cabinet with roll out shelves, pull-out spice storage, and a Hafele Lemans swing out base for the corner cabinet. A beverage bar offers a wine rack and wine glass storage in a convenient location away from the cooking area. These homeowners came to J.P. Hoffman Design Build, looking for a creative solution to a problem they were told couldn’t be fixed. We defied the odds with our Design Build process and redesigned most of this Colonial’s first floor. Space for an island was number one on the want list. In order to achieve that goal, we did what we always do, We listened. We listened to what our client needed, how they used their space and how they envisioned their space. Then we designed a creative solution that made that seemingly unachievable vision, a reality. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and expanded the kitchen cabinets into the hallway, once used to access the bathroom and garage. We simply re-routed the flow to the garage, through the now opened-up dining room, and in the process, created a new hallway with a coat closet, mudroom bench and access to the powder room which we also refreshed. In the kitchen, we relocated the slider leading out to the deck. This allowed for more cabinets and the floor space for that dream island. Our carpentry team installed a new kitchen window and slider, while modifying the existing deck to allow for the change. We installed new flooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures and more. We receive lots of inquires about increasing function within the first floor. This project is a fantastic example of how it can be achieved, without an addition.
