There is a custom pantry with sliding doors designed and built in house by Dimensions In Wood’s master craftsmen. The pantry has soft close door hardware, pull out drawer storage, TASK LED Lighting and tons more! The eat-in kitchen island features a 5 Foot side Galley Workstation Sink with Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops. The island even has four, soft-close drawers. These homeowners came to J.P. Hoffman Design Build, looking for a creative solution to a problem they were told couldn’t be fixed. We defied the odds with our Design Build process and redesigned most of this Colonial’s first floor. Space for an island was number one on the want list. In order to achieve that goal, we did what we always do, We listened. We listened to what our client needed, how they used their space and how they envisioned their space. Then we designed a creative solution that made that seemingly unachievable vision, a reality. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and expanded the kitchen cabinets into the hallway, once used to access the bathroom and garage. We simply re-routed the flow to the garage, through the now opened-up dining room, and in the process, created a new hallway with a coat closet, mudroom bench and access to the powder room which we also refreshed. In the kitchen, we relocated the slider leading out to the deck. This allowed for more cabinets and the floor space for that dream island. Our carpentry team installed a new kitchen window and slider, while modifying the existing deck to allow for the change. We installed new flooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures and more. We receive lots of inquires about increasing function within the first floor. This project is a fantastic example of how it can be achieved, without an addition.

Completed on a small budget, this hard working kitchen refused to compromise on style. The upper and lower perimeter cabinets, sink and countertops are all from IKEA. The vintage schoolhouse pendant lights over the island were an eBay score, and the pendant over the sink is from Restoration Hardware. The BAKERY letters were made custom, and the vintage metal bar stools were an antique store find, as were many of the accessories used in this space. Oh, and in case you were wondering, that refrigerator was a DIY project compiled of nothing more than a circa 1970 fridge, beadboard, moulding, and some fencing hardware found at a local hardware store.

Timeless White Kitchen perfectly describes this beautiful remodel we completed over the winter. The original kitchen had 1970's dark oak cabinets with laminate countertops and backsplash. The shape of the kitchen was a U-Shape with upper cabinets over the peninsula, which made the kitchen feel dark and cut off from the rest of the home. For this remodel, took out the U-shape and gave them an L-shaped kitchen instead, giving them extra countertop to the right of the sink. To make up for the storage lost in the upper cabinets and peninsula, we designed a movable island, which could be added on as peninsula piece, an island in the center of the kitchen, or off to the side to allow for extra walking space. We love the functionality of just this piece! The cabinets are flat panel doors and drawers and painted antique white - so beautiful! The countertops on the perimeter are Cambria and the island is butcherblock walnut. The walnut top has 2 drop down leaves, so when needed the homeowner can extend them and create a 6 foot island! The backsplash is a crackled hand-made ceramic tile in a very pretty grey color. The design is in the details for this one for sure! The corner cabinet features a lazy susan, but with and extra 6 inches to incorporate tray storage. In the tall pantry cabinet, there is a lift up door to hide the microwave. One other feature is the hood! This thin hood pulls out when in use and then can be pushed back in when not, leaving a lot of space above the stove. We just love it! The homeowners had just replaced the floor, so we were able to keep that as well. We just love how this kitchen turned out. We wanted to make the kitchen light and bright, but still make sure it fit in with the rest of the home. This kitchen is sure to stand the test of time, from every day living to baking cookies at the holidays!

The painted white DuraSupreme kitchen cabinets create a bright backdrop for this traditional style kitchen design, accessorized with Top Knobs black finish hardware. This is beautifully highlighted by natural light through the Anderson windows, along with Uttermost pendant lights and Hafele undercabinet and in cabinet lighting. The stained island cabinetry and Apollo luxury vinyl flooring offer a warm contrast to the white perimeter cabinets.
