By raising the dropped ceilings, and removing a support post in the center of the entry, we transformed an uninspiring U-shaped kitchen with a peninsula into a bright and functional kitchen. The new island and high-end appliances featuring the Wolf range, 42" Subzero refrigerator, and the Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers make cooking and entertaining a breeze. The island is a main hub in the kitchen, housing the Wolf microwave drawer, the Scottsman ice maker and the beautiful hammered stainless steel prep sink adjacent from the refrigerator for quick rinsing. Special attention was given to the custom cabinetry to give this kitchen a timeless look. Stacked glass cabinets add depth and extra storage, corbels were added at the island with a bead board detail to make the island a statement piece, and all the appliances were paneled to further emphasis a classic kitchen.

A badly level ceiling, solid brick walls, and leftover architectural features that no longer made sense. That is what stood between Michael and Craig and their beautiful kitchen. The kitchen in this 1899 Lancaster City row home was barely functional. So after creating a plan together that maximized the space while staying in the budget, the work began. The entire room was completely gutted... including an 18” brick wall which opened up the corner to make room for more counter space and cabinets. Gutting the room also allowed us to level the ceiling to give a perfect finish to the top of the cabinets. It was amazing to see the kitchen come together. Soft maple cabinets painted with the Simply White finish. The doors were in the flat panel style with a 1/2” overlay. Lina Pearl granite countertops with a Marazzi Midpark Mosaics glazed porcelain backsplash in Shadow with Alabaster grout. Coretec Plus was used for the flooring in the Whittier Oak color. Most of the appliances were purchased from Martin's Appliances – including the stainless steel Elica stove hood.

This New Hope, PA kitchen design is packed with customized storage solutions that create a stylish, organized, and efficient space. The perimeter kitchen cabinets are Koch Cabinetry in a white finish, while the Dura Supreme island cabinetry offers contrast in a dark wood finish. The cabinetry is complemented by Top Knobs hardware, gray ceramic tile backsplash, and an MSI Quartz countertop. Behind the cabinet doors sits ample storage including a lighted pantry cabinet with roll out shelves, pull-out spice storage, and a Hafele Lemans swing out base for the corner cabinet. A beverage bar offers a wine rack and wine glass storage in a convenient location away from the cooking area. The bright kitchen has ample natural light, plus in-cabinet and under-cabinet lights, recessed lighting, and Uttermost pendant lights over the island.

These homeowners came to J.P. Hoffman Design Build, looking for a creative solution to a problem they were told couldn’t be fixed. We defied the odds with our Design Build process and redesigned most of this Colonial’s first floor. Space for an island was number one on the want list. In order to achieve that goal, we did what we always do, We listened. We listened to what our client needed, how they used their space and how they envisioned their space. Then we designed a creative solution that made that seemingly unachievable vision, a reality. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and expanded the kitchen cabinets into the hallway, once used to access the bathroom and garage. We simply re-routed the flow to the garage, through the now opened-up dining room, and in the process, created a new hallway with a coat closet, mudroom bench and access to the powder room which we also refreshed. In the kitchen, we relocated the slider leading out to the deck. This allowed for more cabinets and the floor space for that dream island. Our carpentry team installed a new kitchen window and slider, while modifying the existing deck to allow for the change. We installed new flooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures and more. We receive lots of inquires about increasing function within the first floor. This project is a fantastic example of how it can be achieved, without an addition.

Timeless White Kitchen perfectly describes this beautiful remodel we completed over the winter. The original kitchen had 1970's dark oak cabinets with laminate countertops and backsplash. The shape of the kitchen was a U-Shape with upper cabinets over the peninsula, which made the kitchen feel dark and cut off from the rest of the home. For this remodel, took out the U-shape and gave them an L-shaped kitchen instead, giving them extra countertop to the right of the sink. To make up for the storage lost in the upper cabinets and peninsula, we designed a movable island, which could be added on as peninsula piece, an island in the center of the kitchen, or off to the side to allow for extra walking space. We love the functionality of just this piece! The cabinets are flat panel doors and drawers and painted antique white - so beautiful! The countertops on the perimeter are Cambria and the island is butcherblock walnut. The walnut top has 2 drop down leaves, so when needed the homeowner can extend them and create a 6 foot island! The backsplash is a crackled hand-made ceramic tile in a very pretty grey color. The design is in the details for this one for sure! The corner cabinet features a lazy susan, but with and extra 6 inches to incorporate tray storage. In the tall pantry cabinet, there is a lift up door to hide the microwave. One other feature is the hood! This thin hood pulls out when in use and then can be pushed back in when not, leaving a lot of space above the stove. We just love it! The homeowners had just replaced the floor, so we were able to keep that as well. We just love how this kitchen turned out. We wanted to make the kitchen light and bright, but still make sure it fit in with the rest of the home. This kitchen is sure to stand the test of time, from every day living to baking cookies at the holidays!

The painted white DuraSupreme kitchen cabinets create a bright backdrop for this traditional style kitchen design, accessorized with Top Knobs black finish hardware. This is beautifully highlighted by natural light through the Anderson windows, along with Uttermost pendant lights and Hafele undercabinet and in cabinet lighting. The stained island cabinetry and Apollo luxury vinyl flooring offer a warm contrast to the white perimeter cabinets. A Kohler white haven farmhouse sink fits in perfectly with this design, along with a Sigma faucet and Mountain Air switch. The design also includes a bar area with an undercounter beverage refrigerator and eye-catching Walker Zanger tile feature, plus Kitchenaid appliances and a Sharp microwave drawer. Granite countertops, a custom drywalled and painted Jay Rambo hood, Task Lighting powerstrips, and handmade white subway tile are among the features that set this kitchen apart. This kitchen remodel was a custom Design + Build project headed up by Lori Brock, our Principal Designer. Some of the more notable features are 3/4" recessed panel cabinet doors with decorative trim, Jenn-Air appliances and pyramid style canopy hood, Delta wall mount pot filler, and 3CM Caesarstone Organic White Quartz counter tops.
