This "U" shaped kitchen and eating area was transformed into a chef's dream with an open layout and seating for guests around a custom hand-crafted walnut island.

After the initial meet with the clients and Witt Construction, I began to think about how the space could work. The cabinets were crafted with Edgemont Recessed doors in maple with an antique white finish…a perfect selection for the kitchen’s traditional/coastal design. For countertop, I suggested modern grey soapstone. With a nod to today’s popular trend to mix and match finishes, the island was completed in a black espresso glaze distressed finish with maple Edgemont Raised doors. What really distinguishes this project is the attention to the details. Along the refrigerator wall, the shelf area has lowered seeded mullion glass cabinets and a valance. This created an airy, open look within the space. The bead board accents and corbels throughout the kitchen complete the design.

The Kitchen also features an apron-front Farmhouse style sink, recessed can lighting and skylight and matching panel front appliances.

We squeezed a lot into this island. A lovely big wine rack - enough for 30 bottles. A wine fridge. A lot of storage. And some lovely bespoke trays. (On the opposite side of the island). Its a great place to sit and enjoy.

This beautiful Tudor home, in the Holmby Hills historic district of west LA, needed a total remodel from the previous 1980's redo. The homeowners wanted an early 20th century look and feel to the kitchen with all the modern conveniences.

Craftsman syle subway tiles hand made in upstate NY. Featured panel behind stove uses Eastlake design carved into 4 x 4 tile and glazed with a color to coordinate with the cabinets. Note a liner that establishes a linear component to the pattern and helps with a sense of scale.
