This gorgeous new kitchen used to be just about half the size before we stepped in for renovations. Not only did we open up the space, but we completely changed nearly every design aspect! The kitchen went from a U-shape to an L-shape, we added an island with seating, swapped laminate counters for quartz and upgraded the backsplash tile. We replaced the old wood-tone cabinets with sleek, painted cabinets - and installed under cabinet lighting and plugs to keep the counters looking bright and clutter-free.

This welcoming kitchen features custom white inset cabinetry complete with carved corbels flanking the hood beautifully contrasted by the black granite counter tops. On the island the color palette was reversed with a painted black island covered in calacatta gold marble. Lively blue glass tiles accent the backsplash and give this gorgeous kitchen a bright pop of color.

An airy and light feeling inhabits this kitchen from the white walls to the white cabinets to the bamboo countertop and to the contemporary glass pendant lighting. Glass subway tile serves as the backsplash with an accent of organic leaf shaped glass tile over the cooktop. The island is a two part system that has one stationary piece closes to the window shown here and a movable piece running parallel to the dining room on the left. The movable piece may be moved around for different uses or a breakfast table can take its place instead. LED lighting is placed under the cabinets at the toe kick for a night light effect. In collaboration with Darcy Tsung Design, we took a small, cramped kitchen and created an open layout for entertaining. The owner is an accomplished chef who wanted a purpose-built kitchen to house all of her specialty items, including pullouts for a Kitchen Aid mixer, a coffee station, and cabinet inserts for knives, spices, and cutting boards. Our traditional, yet still up to date, design was influenced by the owner's antique heirloom dining table and chairs. We seamlessly incorporated that much beloved set of furniture, and gave a prominent place for the owner's colorful artwork.

This bespoke kitchen was designed for a Victorian Townhouse in North London. Cabinets are finished in an Annie Sloan paint in Aubusson Blue with a top coat in wax. Brass knobs and pull handles. Bespoke wine rack makes great use of a narrow space, creating additional storage.

At New Forest Designs we find playing with colours can result beautiful kitchen spaces like this Masterclass Hardwick painted kitchen in Oxford Blue and Light Grey. The Hardwick range is the perfect combination of classic and contemporary, the door has a subtle woodgrain structure which adds character and warmth to any kitchen, and there is a choice of 25 colours to choose from a well as a primed option for you to apply your own colour to achieve your dream kitchen. BRIEF Our clients had only recently moved into this spacious home, and were keen to create an elegant space for cooking, relaxing and entertaining. In addition, they wanted the utility room overhauled to match the kitchen and incorporate plenty of storage. Creating a really coordinated and coherent look and feel was a priority and one that worked around the existing aga and butler sink. Lastly, they wanted a kitchen island, but one big enough to both sit and work at. OUR BESPOKE KITCHEN DESIGN For this style of house with its traditional features, including the lovely Aga and butler sink, we designed a classic in-frame shaker style kitchen. The lovely pastel blue shade was chosen by our clients and brings the classic shaker right up to date, keeping the space light and bright with a timeless quality. To create a contrast to the blue, our clients were keen to introduce another colour into the kitchen. The island was the ideal choice to create this contrast but instead of opting for an alternative paint finish, we took inspiration from the rest of the home and our clients love for coordination. The adjoining dining room features an oak dining table and chairs, so we recommended an oak kitchen island to create a great coherency between the two spaces. The whole look is brought together with a Konigstone Quartz worktop contrasting with a Granite worktop on the island, the contemporary Quooker tap, and classic Limestone floor. ALL IN THE DETAIL Colour coordination and coherency was really important to our client’s vision so we colour matched the glass splashback with the hand painted units to keep the shade of blue consistent across the kitchen. Additionally, we spotted that the light fittings and switches around the home were all brass so to continue the consistency with materials and look, we used brass handles in the kitchen.
