Through the magic of wine cellar vapor barrier and insulation, the design build team at Vintage Cellars was able to properly prepare this outbuilding to store over 1700 collectible wines. Working closely with the client, we were able to understand that although display is nice - uncompromising long term storage was the overarching goal. Sweeping throughout the room above, individual bottle storage reigns to maximize bottle count. At about chest height, you can see two rows of angled high reveal display. Here, the homeowner placed his prized bottles - just a glimpse of what this incredible collection holds. Directly in the center of this medium sized wine room lies a small peninsula - a small section jetting out where larger format bottles are kept atop, as well as more space below in individual bottle storage. A small tabletop can be utilized to open wines or to let your favorites decant while you peruse the gems throughout. Below again is more individual bottle storage, sitting atop gorgeous Mediterranean style tile. 1,500 bottle wine cellar built for award-winning San Diego chef. Generous display racking to showcase esteemed collection and share with guests and clients. Flowing, curved dynamic throughout cellar with custom storage and suspended racking to maximize space. This custom wine cellar design in Del Mar / La Jolla Area in San Diego California focuses on wine display. A few different types of wine bottle showcasing techniques were used in the wine storage space, including high reveal display, horizontal display, arches coved trays, wine case storage, curved countertops, and overhead racking. These custom wine racks in Del Mar / La Jolla, San Diego California were crafted from Premium Redwood; a highly sought-after material, and one uniquely able to withstand the cool temperature and humidity inherent in a wine storage space. LED lighting was installed to illuminate the lovely racks. At their foundation, wine cellars are above all a place to safely store and age wine. At the entrance to the wine cellar is a custom distinguished distressed redwood door and above the door hangs suspended racking that you’ll only find in a custom wine cellar. Finally, perhaps the most dramatic feature of the wine room is its regal custom flooring. Visitors will also notice the undeniable flowing design of the large wine cellar created by gentle curves of the countertop and racking. The subtle curves not only enhance the flow of the walk in wine cellar, the curved display racking fans bottles out before the visitor and the arches above the redwood countertops complete the rounded aesthetic of the cellar. Another unique feature of this walk in wine cellar is the uncommon shape of the room. A traditional wine cellar built in the basement storage area. High volume storage with a touch of display was the focus of the room. This beautifully rustic and modern custom wine cellar in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California is inside one of your favorite A-List Celebrity's home. The design of the cellar was centered around a large amount of bottle storage with minimal wine displays. This unique space also has room for wine case storage, as well as horizontal display on top of high reveal display. Prior to proper vapor barrier and insulation being installed into the room, this space was a simple basement storage area. The entire room was gutted, and stripped down to the studs. A 6mm plastic was placed covering every wall and crevice to ensure that the room would be sealed completely. Spray foam insulation was applied three inches thick around, followed by green board mold resistant drywall. The racking is made of all heart redwood - a fantastic choice for a custom wine room such as this. Redwood is great to use because of its ability to resist rot and mold, as well as looking great (or even better) as the wood cures over time. The large wine cellar has room for unique large format bottles, as well as special champagne bottle display. It was a pleasure working on this project - the owner is a great guy (and host too) and we look forward to working together again.
