Cindy Juillet of Reico Kitchen & Bath in King of Prussia, PA collaborated with Greg Amey to design a beautiful Old World inspired French Country style kitchen featuring Ultracraft Cabinetry. The kitchen showcases the Ultracraft Oakland Park door style in Maple with a Moon Bay Brown Linen Low Sheen finish. The perimeter countertop is Valente Pearl quartz by Corian, while the island countertop features Nocturne by LG Viatera. “We appreciate Cindy’s advice in making design choices, both in the details and in the overall layout, while at the same time honoring our wishes. We wanted the look of an Old World/French Country kitchen to match the French Normandy style of our older home. We got it! The layout of the large space makes food prep and entertaining easy and fun,” said the client. Cindy mentioned that the biggest challenge designing this kitchen was the space was very large. “The client wanted to combine the existing small kitchen and dining room into one large kitchen and also have enough room for a 12-seat dining table. I wanted to make sure that everything would flow and be cohesive. They love to cook so I incorporated a 48" stove with plenty of counter top space on either side,” said Cindy. The decision to keep the original cabinet boxes meant simply replacing the cabinet drawers and drawer fronts for a refreshing transformation. The porcelain tile floor has the unmistakable look of brick without the struggle to keep it clean. New appliances, stylish range hood, and a new cabinet box for the refrigerator. A custom island located in the original dining nook satisfies the client's number one request, providing a place to drink wine and make cookies.

This French Country inspired kitchen was installed in a Tudor revival style cottage near Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, TN. The Ilve Oven, Shadow Storm Quartzite and french casement push-out all add old world charm to this modern kitchen.

The owners of this South Dublin period family home have relocated their kitchen to create a bright and bespoke new design – a total transformation from its predecessor. The bespoke 30mm solid wood cabinetry features stepped Shaker doors and solid oak internals. The cabinetry has been handpainted in Farrow & Ball French Grey, creating an elegant, calming space. The open shelving over the sink with the mirror finish is a key element of the design, which allows for the natural light to reflect around the room, giving views of the beautiful exposed brick feature from all angles. Aged brass handles complete the look.

This beautiful shaker kitchen demonstrates perfectly how a breakfast bar can be incorporated into a smaller space. The contrasting oak worktop compliments the overall country feel of this kitchen. The colour of the units works perfectly and brings this whole space to life.

The original kitchen was dated and small for the homeowner’s large family. Space was a top priority for our clients, so to give them some much-needed room to spread out, we tore down the walls enclosing the kitchen and shifted it to where the dining room once stood. This allowed us to design a massive kitchen island, ensuring all family members fit comfortably. First, we painted the cabinets a calming green. Then, we mixed materials throughout the kitchen for an eclectic, collected look. Looking closely, you’ll see we mixed wood tones. We used a natural oak on the floor and a coffee stain on the cabinets, island, and table. We also mixed metals, a characteristic in many of our designs. In the kitchen, we used black, polished nickel, and gold. When mixing metals, we strive to achieve a ping-pong effect, purposefully skipping materials so the eye moves effortlessly around the room. For example, we placed gold wall sconces above the sink and gold hardware on the cabinets below, using polished nickel on the faucet in between the two. To further play off French country design, we laid a brick-shaped tile in a soft, subtle neutral tone. Real brick would have been too red and harsh in this space, so we went with a milder approach. Complimenting the tile, we also mixed standard shaker cabinet fronts with slim shaker insets for a soft, elegant detail.

Every remodel comes with its new challenges and solutions. Our client built this home over 40 years ago and every inch of the home has some sentimental value. They had outgrown the original kitchen. It was too small, lacked counter space and storage, and desperately needed an updated look. The homeowners wanted to open up and enlarge the kitchen and let the light in to create a brighter and bigger space. Consider it done! We put in an expansive 14 ft. multifunctional island with a dining nook. We added on a large, walk-in pantry space that flows seamlessly from the kitchen. All appliances are new, built-in, and some cladded to match the custom glazed cabinetry. We even installed an automated attic door in the new Utility Room that operates with a remote. New windows were installed in the addition to let the natural light in and provide views to their gorgeous property.
