Designed by Paula Truchon of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Frederick, MD in collaboration with Faber Custom Builders, this Rustic inspired kitchen design features Greenfield Cabinetry in the Augusta door style in 2 finishes. The perimeter kitchen cabinets feature Knotty Alder with the Federal finish. The island cabinets feature a paintable Cityscape finish. Kitchen countertops are granite in the color Steel Gray with a leathered finish. The kitchen tile backsplash features Unicom Starker Natural Slate Multi-color in 12x12 sheets. Drastic kitchen and bathroom transformation pictures coming your way. This remodeling project has a bitter sweet story. This home was built in 1975 and was the childhood home for our client. Many, many holidays, birthdays, graduations, and life milestones were celebrated here with her brothers and sisters. This home was the hub for all life events and milestones. When her parents passed a few years ago, our client decided to purchase the home with plans of renovations and continuing the family traditions and celebrations she always loved. That's where we come in. Our job was to redesign the kitchen and bathroom into a functional space where family and friends could gather during the celebratory times and give it a rustic flare. Challenge accepted! What was on their wish list? •Remove the peninsula area and add an island. ✔️ Got it! •Warm colors, materials to be used to give a rustic farmhouse feel. ✔️ Yes Ma'am! •Open the wall to the family room. ✔️ Absolutely! •Tone down the orange bathroom and turn it into a half bath. ✔️ Our pleasure! As you can see from the before and after pictures, every wish was signed sealed and delivered. A new chapter is happening in this home. Memories of Mom and Dad are still alive and well in every space of this home and now traditions will continue with loving thoughts of the past and excitement of the future. Working for this family was truly an honor.

Vivid Interiors This darling 1905 Capitol Hill home has a lot of charm. To complete its look, the kitchen, dining room and adjacent powder room have been modernized. A new kitchen design and expanded powder room increase the homeowner’s storage space and functionality. To open the space and integrate its style with the rest of the home, the new design included a reconfigured kitchen layout with an opened doorway into the dining room. The kitchen shines with Honey Maple cabinetry and Cambria quartz countertops, along with a gas cooktop, built-in double oven, and mosaic tile backsplash, all set to the backdrop of under-cabinet lighting and Marmoleum flooring. To integrate the original architecture into the kitchen and dining areas, arched doorways were built at either entrance, and new wood windows installed. For the new lighting plan and black-stainless appliances, an upgrade to the electrical panel was required. The updated lighting, neutral paint colors, and open floor plan, has increased the natural daylight in the kitchen and dining rooms. To expand the adjacent powder room and add more cabinet and counter space in the kitchen, the existing seating area was sacrificed and the wall was reframed. The bathroom now has a shallow cabinet featuring an under mount full size sink with off-set faucet mount to maximize space. We faced very few project challenges during this remodel. Luckily our client and her neighbors were very helpful with the constrained parking on Capitol Hill. The craftsman and carpenters on our team, rose to the challenge of building the new archways, as the completed look appears to be original architecture. The project was completed on schedule and within 5% of the proposed budget. A retired librarian, our client was home during most of the project, but was delightful to work with. The adjacent powder room features cloud-white stained cabinetry, Cambria quartz countertops, and a glass tile backsplash, plus new plumbing fixtures, a ventilation fan, and Marmoleum flooring. The home is now a complete package and an amazing space!

The wall cabinets were staggered to follow the vaulted ceiling line & beams rather than the typical straight line of cabinets ignoring it. The knotty alder cabinets were done in a large stile & rail proportion. The chunky crown is treated like baby beams. The hood is oil rubbed bronze.

Santa Fe’ in the Rocky Mountains. My Client handed me a weathered log from the creek bottom and said could you make my kitchen look like this? Then she handed me an oil soaked railroad tie and asked if these could be re-purposed … I fell in love. When she had moved onto an acreage from Santa Fe she did not leave her love for Southwest design and natural inspired forms. She built her mountaintop home in the 80’s and told the contractor “I love Santa Fe!” That is exactly what she got; beautiful open wood beam construction, with white plaster walls and an adobe feel. However, the soft pinks and whitewash were starting to date, and looked out of place in 8 months of rocky mountain winter. How do you keep a Santa Fe’ feel in a mountain landscape- go back to natural form. From a desert landscape formed by wind and rain to a mountain landscape formed by wind and rain. With my railroad ties and river-worn tree limb we designed a kitchen
