David Duncan Livingston For this ground up project in one of Lafayette’s most prized neighborhoods, we brought an East Coast sensibility to this West Coast residence. Honoring the client’s love of classical interiors, we layered the traditional architecture with a crisp contrast of saturated colors, clean moldings and refined white marble. In the living room, tailored furnishings are punctuated by modern accents, bespoke draperies and jewelry like sconces. Built-in custom cabinetry, lasting finishes and indoor/outdoor fabrics were used throughout to create a fresh, elegant yet livable home for this active family of five.

Rainforest Bathroom in Horsham, West Sussex Explore this rainforest-inspired bathroom, utilising leafy tiles, brushed gold brassware and great storage options. The Brief This Horsham-based couple required an update of their en-suite bathroom and sought to create an indulgent space with a difference, whilst also encompassing their interest in art and design. Creating a great theme was key to this project, but storage requirements were also an important consideration. Space to store bathroom essentials was key, as well as areas to display decorative items. Design Elements A leafy rainforest tile is one of the key design elements of this projects. It has been used as an accent within storage niches and for the main shower wall, and contributes towards the arty design this client favoured from initial conversations about the project. On the opposing shower wall, a mint tile has been used, with a neutral tile used on the remaining two walls. Including plentiful storage was key to ensure everything had its place in this en-suite. A sizeable furniture unit and matching mirrored cabinet from supplier Pelipal incorporate plenty of storage, in a complimenting wood finish. Special Inclusions To compliment the green and leafy theme, a selection of brushed gold brassware has been utilised within the shower, basin area, flush plate and towel rail. Including the brushed gold elements enhanced the design and further added to the unique theme favoured by the client. Storage niches have been used within the shower and above sanitaryware, as a place to store decorative items and everyday showering essentials. The shower itself is made of a Crosswater enclosure and tray, equipped with a waterfall style shower and matching shower control. Project Highlight The highlight of this project is the sizeable furniture unit and matching mirrored cabinet from German supplier Pelipal, chosen in the san remo oak finish. This furniture adds all-important storage space for the client and also perfectly matches the leafy theme of this bathroom project. The End Result This project highlights the amazing results that can be achieved when choosing something a little bit different. Designer Martin has created a fantastic theme for this client, with elements that work in perfect harmony, and achieve the initial brief of the client. The stacked slate slab countertop has a rustic natural edge. the faucet is operated by sensor, and creates the old mine feel of the space with its simplicity. This new home was built on an old lot in Dallas, TX in the Preston Hollow neighborhood. The new home is a little over 5,600 sq.ft. and features an expansive great room and a professional chef’s kitchen. This 100% brick exterior home was built with full-foam encapsulation for maximum energy performance. There is an immaculate courtyard enclosed by a 9' brick wall keeping their spool (spa/pool) private. Electric infrared radiant patio heaters and patio fans and of course a fireplace keep the courtyard comfortable no matter what time of year. A custom king and a half bed was built with steps at the end of the bed, making it easy for their dog Roxy, to get up on the bed. There are electrical outlets in the back of the bathroom drawers and a TV mounted on the wall behind the tub for convenience. The bathroom also has a steam shower with a digital thermostatic valve. The kitchen has two of everything, as it should, being a commercial chef's kitchen! The stainless vent hood, flanked by floating wooden shelves, draws your eyes to the center of this immaculate kitchen full of Bluestar Commercial appliances. There is also a wall oven with a warming drawer, a brick pizza oven, and an indoor churrasco grill. There are two refrigerators, one on either end of the expansive kitchen wall, making everything convenient. There are two islands; one with casual dining bar stools, as well as a built-in dining table and another for prepping food. At the top of the stairs is a good size landing for storage and family photos. There are two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as a movie room. What makes this home so special is the Casita! It has its own entrance off the common breezeway to the main house and courtyard. There is a full kitchen, a living area, an ADA compliant full bath, and a comfortable king bedroom. It’s perfect for friends staying the weekend or in-laws staying for a month.
